Totally did not want to give up 24x damage vs distant for 12% movespeed
Deaths approach +3 is 12% additional movespeed.
Necks can roll with 26.2% movespeed
Getting this new talent on a neck is inferior to just getting movespeed.
The talent doesnt multiply anything. It just gives you 12% more movespeed.
Pretty awful to do this type of change before releasing a timed competitive mode.
It should have both stats if dmg vs distant is such a niche stat
Both my endgame necks had this stat +3 and i dont see myself using either anymore because i dont have enough damage. Sorcs and barbs are walking up to bosses 1 shotting them. This is dumb.

This was being debated a lot pre launch. I was curious myself how much this would affect bone spears since we are ranged. I’ll be checking it out once I get home.
it’s not good. worse than just getting movespeed on an amulet. doesnt multiply anything.
the worst part is that i lost 24x dmg and im not running around 1 shotting bosses like a barb so the ability to get from mob to mob faster (that im now also killing slower) does me no good.
Sounds pretty good to nerf 1-2 build slightly and buff every other necro builds, especially those uses unique amulets.
What I don’t get is why they needed to remove the other one in the first place.
It’s a passive, so it’s not like keeping both would mess with the 1-then-2-upgrades per skill structure (and passives aren’t that strictly formatted I think).
So, unironically “why not both?” (Why not just add Death’s Approach instead of replacing Death’s Reach with it?) I don’t get it
because of the funny thing people keep screaming for. balance.
i personally like the change. necros like extra movement speed. (well, at least i do).
inb4: but barbs

They should have buffed Inspiring Leader to 12% attack speed and movement speed instead of changing Death’s Reach.
That’s what I would call a proper buff.
This would be a very awesome change I agree with this one.
Necro needs a corpse explosion option that causes you to dash to the corpse before detonating it (maybe doesn’t work with the unique ring)

Still a bad talent totally not worth losing a 24x dmg multiplier in a midseason nerf. plz fix
ty again for ruining my necros favorite piece of armor with a midseason nerf in season 3
They changed it because it wasn’t worth the points. If you needed to take points out of something, they came out of Death’s Reach because higher damage is more important when enemies are close to you… even on a ranged build.
Death’s Approach is very useful while leveling up, when you have very little move speed on gear.
I do not agree with other-Sketch’s assessment. I prefer the movespeed

Aren’t you a little too late? Like almost half a year late?

the thread necro game is pretty strong the last few days ^^
I think he just wanted to establish that he is Sketch and the OP is Other Sketch. Which I can respect it is very “Archer”.

This is not a necro thread anything. It was a bad talent 5 months ago and still is. The change midseason killed one of my favorite pieces of armor on an underperforming class. If they were to do this one more time id probably uninstall because they didnt learn anything from season 0 or season 3 when it comes to reworking things at the end of a season. Not halfway thru a season, Not 2 days before the end of the season… at the end of a season.
Why would it make sense to farm gear endlessly in game and then farm it again with double triple greater affixes if on a whim they can go removing 24x damage multipliers from a class?
I just keep thinking about this ability because it was originally described in the tooltip as a movespeed multiplier and then ultimately the toolitip was fixed to what it was a flat 12% movespeed increase.
You’ve referenced this armor multiple times and I’m curious which it is.
The item itself doesnt matter anymore. Its legacy gear that got nerfed to oblivion.
When I play the toon again i’ll be pigeonholed into using the neck unique that all blight users use now because if you try to do anything unique in this game theyll nerf it mid season because its niche.
I take issue more with how they made this change saying they would listen to feedback, ignored feedback, left the new dumb talent with a broken tooltip all season. Would have been really simple to tack on movespeed onto the talent and change it at the end of the season.
I find this all to be very Sketchy.
Also like whats going on with dmg vs distant?
It was fairgame for a huge nerf like this but its still in the game as one of the things you can temper on your weapons (potentially bricking them).
is it still going to be in the game in season 5 or should i continue building around it?
Like if im making a rapid fire rogue do i not put dmg vs distant on it?
