Dark Citadel - The worst mechanic ever

I will never understand how you can introduce a mechanic into the game that even FORCES us to play in a team, where probably 90% of players play alone and there is no need to be forced to play with someone just to make a citadel and leave. I would like to be able to do this activity by myself but unfortunately Blizzard said it would be a great idea to add something that is completely unnecessary. I even tried to find someone to play with through the team finder but even after 30 minutes of searching I didn’t find anyone because the finder itself never works as it should, it just keeps spinning a wheel and nothing else or it doesn’t find anyone at all. What’s the point of such a mechanic if it doesn’t work? It was the same in Diablo Immortal, where we were sort of forced to play a party to pass some dungeons, which turned me off the game completely. I’m not the type of player who wants or needs to play with someone, I prefer to play alone. As much as I hate the fact that in this game there is an open world where I can meet anyone and anyone can meet me, completely incomprehensible, unnecessary and stupid to me. Artificially showing that the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP will destroy every evil and we must have friends in the game. I wanted to do my weekly challenges but because of the fact that I have no way to do this citadel - I just won’t finish them.

Don’t be surprised if you see another co-op in the next expansion. I wonder what the data shows them about the DC?
I ran it a few times early on and never went back. Brent seems to want to push more co-op. Some nonsense about modern gamers only knowing how to play with friends (not solo) and they want those new kids (money).

They wanted to make a solo game into a multiplayer game. Its forced group play for a game meant to be played SOLO. The PVP area introduced in the beginning is SOOOOO Dead right now. Easy 10 whispers in less than 10 minutes because nobody is out there. There is no point. No leaderboard (who TF cares for that), no real money to be the best PVP player, etc.

They wanted to make Diablo 4 like WoW and it wont work. They have essentially killed the franchise. Seasons are boring same OP boss/power mechanics.

It will be a forced 4 person group play. They are trying to copy WoW with the co op raiding.

I’ve never run DC in 3 seasons.

Same here, I just did it in tutorial in DLC but maybe complete it ONCE per whole seasons which I’ve played.

Ran it once with my wife; failed and never went back because it is outright useless if you aren’t interested in cosmetics.

For me DC is just one more piece of content I ignore. If they add more I will ignore more.

The thing is D4 was never meant to be like WoW or any other open world ARPG. Diablo was Diablo - you log in, create a champion, level up through the campaign, and go smash tons of mobs SOLO. What we have now is hilarious - we are solo players in an open world Diablo game, from time to time we will meet other players doing the same thing we are doing, in this game there is no world chat to even talk to anyone. This game is dead, but Blizzard will never admit it. I always wanted Blizzard to go the way of GGG - every next season what they added to the game would stay in the game and we would have TONS of activities to do, but they went their own stupid way of creating seasons with dead activities.

Yep… that’s the way I’ve always looked at it. Single player. If I wanted multiplayer I’d go back to WoW… which I will be doing at the end of S8.

Been here for S6 thru S8 and I have enjoyed S8 the most… but I’m itching to play MoP classic when it launches later this summer so will be taking a D4 hiatus until who knows when. I feel like the seasonal powers are just gonna be more of the same anyway.

Noone force players to do it. Diveristy in activities is a good thing.

even forgot that Dark Citadel exists  played it once when was introduced and was enough

Variety is good, but not at the cost of not being able to do your weekly challenges - what is the point of being forced to find a party to do it? I would do it every day if I could just do it alone. It’s a good concept, but it’s done all wrong. Diablo Immortal was an introduction to what we will have in D4.

How are people to run the event if they cannot get someone to run it with them? They may want to run it but they are excluded because they cannot get someone to join them is that the type of “Diversity” you want?

You know what, guys? Maybe I’m stupid enough to be put in the museum. I PLAYED WITH CROSSPLAY OFF ALL THE TIME. LIKE A WHOLE WEEK OR WORSE. I COMPLETELY FORGOT. THAT’S WHY I COULDN’T FIND ANYONE TO PLAY WITH :upside_down_face:

Still, Blizzard needs to make their games better. End of thread.

Have you ever run the DC before?

Me? Indeed, few times some seasons ago.

Okay I was going to do it with you if you needed help. Others helped me.
