Also why I was never interested in the game to begin with. It is a very niche genre based on the amount of people that play these types of games.
Completely agree, was just using it as a comparison is all. I didn’t mean to try and insinuate it’s the same issue, just similar outcomes is all.
Again, absolutely true, it took years to bring in record numbers.
On that same note I would say Diablo 3 is more popular now then it was after the backlash and for several years afterward. I don’t have the numbers, so sadly I can only go off of speculation at this point, but with the addition of Seasonal Themes I would say it’s gotten more popular and gained some of its player base back. Not a lot mind you, as it’s kind of a niche speedrun Diablo game, you can get to max level in a couple of hours, and that’s just playing casually.
I agree, it’s not impossible. Will it be as big as it was at launch? Of course not, all games lose their player base over time, just how the industry works. At least on the bright side, people already own the game, and can come back anytime they want to see the changes. Until the first expansion comes out, then all bets are off
I found it to be well worth its price right now. It is even more engrossing with the VR helmet. I will heartily recommend it. As opposed to Star Citizen (someone earlier recommended it. Don’t), which unfortunately is nothing more than a pipe dream, No Man’s Sky is a game.
Yep, except No Man’s Sky comes from an indy company with very low budget, so even if they miss the launch, they deserve some respect, they still are improving their game even nowadays (though its graphics looks very obsolete in my opinion).
No Man’s Sky is being developed by hello games, a tiny indie studio in Guildford, UK. We previously made the Joe Danger series, but now we’re casting our eyes to the heavens.
I think it’s a small team without a bunch of midlevel and upper level management crapping down on the dev team. So faster fixes due to less red tape.
Also don’t need to support the mid level and upper level management salaries.
