D4 PTR for S2? Yes or No

Wouldn’t move my finger to report anything to people that don’t care about fixing it.
We play the same game, devs do not care about the problems, I don’t care about reporting them. So no. It is a waste of time.

PTR is mostly a PC game deal, pretty rare on console games, and this is a console game.

Yes, blizzard can certainly do that but I doubt it will make any differences. The dev cant even solved many of the player concerned now, any PTR here on are just going to reflex the same core issue. Hence as this stage, its a total waste of effort and time.

I believe blizzard strategy now is bringing player back with new content and new season mechanics instead of fixing the fundamental flaw we have in the game.

ooofffff, its hurt me to agree with you.

They havnt announced that there be ptr. In other words u shouldnt expect there to be a ptr.
Also i dont see any reason to currently. They been doing tweaks and fixes mid season. There is no LB so it doesnt rly matter. Right now its about balancing the foundation and releasing things they been working on.

The best PTR model Ive experience was team fight tactics, Mortdog was an excellent Dev testing the PTR himself on stream while receiving feedback and making correction on bugs and exploits.

I really enjoy that before playing D4.

Virtually every single MMO I have played has a PTR build and it significantly reduces major bugs. The ones that do exist tend to get hotfixed within the first week or so. This also gives players valuable insight on mechanics and what will be good without having to rely on Streamers to parse all the hidden mechanics and do the not-so-fun testing during the Live Release, allowing you the player to focus on…playing.

For this being a Live Service game, it feels really behind. I mean, we had Malignant Hearts that were obviously broken that did not even get fixed until what, less than a month left in the Season? There are still some that are not working correctly and have bugged interactions (Berserk Ripping and Barber lol). This would and should have been caught within maybe an hour of testing. It is pathetic.

Why not for seasons? This is to get feedback about changes to systems or to get a feel of a new system and players have a chance to see it first hand. You do know not every single person logins into a PTR some don’t care for the test realms

D3 does PTR for Seasons
D2R did PTR’s for patches / seasons

You say for expansions there should be one. Why? So you can try the expansion and decide if you are going to purchase or not?

because you are asking them to expose their own lie about how packed of content it is for season 2.

you really think there is a lot more content than season 2? lol i seriously doubt it

For expac i expect a closed beta.

No PTR, they made good reasons for why they dont want it when i watched a QnA

and i agree.

with the internet channels etc, its not the same situation as D3, even if people want to ignore content like story etc, its’s part of this iteration like it or not.

Would rather have a few bugs than, spoiled content.

I am the somewhat target audience for this iteration though so i care more about things outside of typical arpg players.

Dont hate me, i know it is Content for creators and testers, but there are better reasons to let them test inhouse this time

i am still leaning toward that they are just bluffing about having so much content, because they said the exact same crap before season 1 and look what we got.

I do not trust them right now, ill wait but i definitely am not holding my breath for this season.

Few bugs can ruin the experience of a lot of people.

Normally i wouldnt mind not having a ptr but track record shows they need one.

But only if they actually fix stuff in time for release.

Some of the stuff they implement seems kinda sloppy so…im not even sure a ptr would be of any benefit.

Need to have base competency first. I think they lost a lot of respect from a lot of people so not really confident having a ptr matters for this team.

Just more work to just have a ptr set up.

I guess.

I didn’t mind season 1 tbh, fun enough. Wasn’t mind blowing but, i liked it, its just the game is too easy so the tunnels cosmetically look creepy and sometimes a malignant was tougher, but in general, they got pushed into the ground.

I like the invokers and the new boss, but not the difficulty.

Sadly i would have enjoyed it more if the game didn’t have all the changes i dont like. :person_shrugging:what can i do, ppl be mad and crazy so they shifted gears.

Did you enjoy S1 ? If yes, Play S2, If no, Don’t.

The game is only going to get better overtime as they fix more and more things.

But if you dislike the core gameplay loop of D4 then it will never be fun for you

i think the main reason why s1 was a total flop is that the entire season is ruined by a single item…barber…

once you got barber, everything else just dies instantly, it removed all malignant heart diversity because you are effectively gimping yourself if you dont use it.

it does allow people to play builds that were inferior i supposed so theres the silver lining…

Just like all things there is a balance but you know in IT, testing is a big deal. So it just feels that they have not tested enough and a great way to do that is ptr.

But some of fixes they have done as you already know seem either lazy or made things potentially worse.

So this is why im not sure if having a ptr will make a difference overall lol.

Exactly. Blizzard has done that exact same thing for WOW so this isnt some off the wall request. Catching bugs or problems in PTR helps make launches go a lot smoother. Im surprised they arent doing it for D4 and am curious as to their thought process on this.

How much content do you honestly think they are going to put into a season in the first place? Like what is an reasonable amount of content for you that you’d be satisfied with?

Season content is not going to be in the mass of you got umpteen hours of added content.

i expect the quest line to be more, farming aside the quest only last about 10 minutes, that’s pathetically short.

after 10m you are basically back to s0 with the goal of farming barber…
