POE2 has the same rating as Last Epoch in Steam, it is similar rating in Google too. I think both game are equally popular now.

I play minion witch, so I constantly move and occasionally cast spell. The resulting wiggling feeling is disturbing at first. On D3/4 and POE1 where your character instantly stop when casting feel better to me (or I’m just more used to it 
).
Ihmo the main difference is that in D4, in general abilities are locked onto your class while in POE2, they are lock to weapons. Classes (and especially ascendancies) are more of a powercreep layer rather than a pure playstyle defining thing. It still serve as a playstyle hint for newbies but that’s it.
Viewer follow streamers, not games. If one popular streamer play game X, that game will be high on charts but if they start playing Y instead, X return to the ground and Y is high on charts. If you want to use twitch as a metric, counting viewers of official studio’s channel during big announcements would be better to measure public interest.
Considering that D4 has it’s own downloaded/launcher (BnetClient) and was released first on Bnet, low steam rating is not surprising. I highly doubt that the majority of copy were sold on steam.
As for google … POE has its own wiki and a lot of different mechanics. The game also have more complexity while D4 is much simpler and straightforward. People searching for various information about items and mechanics will produce a big amount of search that D4 won’t produce at all.

Nonsensical argument. Neither me nor you are part of the “game industry”. You can’t talk on behalf of an entire industry just to make your point seem stronger.
Again, either we like it or not Twitch metrics are valid for some things. Hype is generally no1, and to a much lesser extent popularity.

Yeah all the industry doesn’t red carpet streamers, partner with them, give them goodies, give them early access and review copies, make contracts with them and pay them, etc… Surely they don’t do these sorts of things because it doesn’t get eyes on the game and get people to buy and play. Industry don’t care about Twitch. They don’t run special promotion on Twitch with drops and paid for skins through gifted Twitch subs. um hm.

To OP - simple answer, no.
Well for one I wanted to see what the Hype was.
For 2, I couldn’ talk/compare about the game with out playing it.
For 3, I wanted something else to play other then D 4 when I was done with D 4’s seasons.
For 4, I spent $30.00’s on POE 2 but when it comes to D 4, I honestly spend over $500.00’s so far.

You do Realize D 4 is in it’s mid/to Late Season right? OF COURSE people aren’t playing the season nearly as much (as it would be more then likely the same way in any mid/to late season).
If a Season starts and … ex. 500k started the season that same amount is gonna be playing the game mid/to late season? - Especially if another game may have come out.
Please, Get, Realistic.

Every time someone brings up this investment, I have to chime in, it’s such an unusual deal…
It is the exact cost of $30 worth of shop currency (unusual #1) and with it, as a new player, one can invest in substantial stash management. That’s what I did. And the purchases transfer over to the other game (unusual #2) - which promises to have staggered leagues, or at least continued league support.
I’ll tell anyone who actually cares about value… I can’t think of a better value out there that isn’t 100% free, in modern gaming. Terraria maybe? Kek.
Anyhoo… to translate this sort of value over, it’d mean getting “Nahantu” for free. 
That’s fine. People are giving feedback. But it’s funny how you casually chose to ignore all the overwhelmingly positive feedback. Oh well.
