i am also interested in reliquaries^^

Tbh if they added the cube from d3 it would just be 3 more multipliers that nobody actually needs

With d4’s current systems I’m not sure how useful it would be…

My guess they will be Aspect-like powers in their own separate pool. Possibly even a Witch-Power like system.

i sure hope such a mechanic would be something different. Just adding more aspects into a build would just be a fancy power creep d4 doesnt need.

Not even sure if such a system really should rely on “powers” but rather some interesting perks.

If we get a cube… whatever else it does… if it comes before an auto-salvage filter, then I want it to contain my auto-salvage settings.

Perks… powers… same difference.

I just doubt they’ll be on items themselves. Like D4 runes, it won’t be the same system as previous implementations.

Players: “Put in X system!”
Devs: “Okay, here’s the D4 implementation of X!”
Players: “But it’s not the saaa-aame!”

It’s pretty safe to say all the remaining :poop: systems from D3 will be making it in D4 eventually.

I’m willing to bet kanai’s cube will be in the expansion.

I hope it comes someday too but I don’t know what function it would have, the Jeweler and Blacksmith basically do everything the Cube did in D2 and the Codex/Occultist basically does what Kanai’s Cube did in D3, should have just been in the game since launch but who needs to listen to popular demand right? :man_shrugging:

Maybe if they gave us crafting recipes for custom rings and amulets that we could roll on, the extra storage space, guaranteed specific rune conversion results, maybe let us add a GA to an item at some cost, and a way to combine materials for actual Uber bosses (not like the fake ones we have now) + let this be the final piece for the Cow level and just let it happen already I could get behind the cube.

The cube was originally in D2 though. D3 did change it; instead of putting items into the cube you sacrificed them to it and picked from the list. Aspects in D4 are basically like the D2 cube (you don’t get maxed aspect) but with the D3 sacrifice requirement. So we already have parts of both. I’m not sure what adding the rest would even mean beyond pointless power creep.

It might be interesting to be able to place old seasonal powers instead of aspects.
At least this way they won’t be lost forever when a season ends.
(With balance included, of course, so it doesn’t break the game… too much)

Expansions to ARPGs (and MMORPGs) tend to add power creep mechanics though, I imagine out of the thought that they’ll continue to make the game interesting.

That and the fact that D4 has certain mobile game feels to it, I’m almost certain they will add something with the next expansion. Mobile games push power creep like crazy. Sometimes it works - I played Empires and Puzzles for a couple years and enjoyed the power creeps as they were mostly well-implemented. I bouncd off Archero very quickly specifically because they added so many power creep mechanics in their first year or so the game became nonsense. That and that was about the time i realized I had better things to do with my time

Like blue stone in slot one auto salvages everything but 2GA or better gear. That would be amazing.

Exactly. What needs to happen is multiplicative damage buffs need a revamp. It causes the entire game to revolve around them. Having them as vulnerable or crit multipliers is fine but more than that leads to problems with build functionality.

Ugh, I hope not.

If it will become the thing, then I’m out for good

Indeed.

I am sure they will be renamed and marketed as something never seen before in a Diablo game. This is their vision of the future being “inspiring”.
