Crush Goblins on the Slay Ride to Hell

I had runes drop (but I already had them).

Incorect you might what to read the blog.

My biggest gripe with the vanilla ultimate edition was the fact that the wings of the creator emote never got changed into actual wings whereas the VoH UE got wings right out of the gate.

I know it’s implied, but to make it explicit: you do have VoH I assume. (Just crossing all the t’s here.)

You know what…? That’s a valid gripe - never crossed my mind. Er- I mean…

YEAAAAH!

Kek… couldn’t buy the cheapest item in the store with the included plat (that’ll forever color my impression of their business philosophy), AND the wings was a rip-off retrospectively? Thanks Blizzard. :stuck_out_tongue:

yes! truth be told, i bought the ultimate edition because i thought it was wings to use not just randomly ā€œemoteā€ and to make matters worse if you ā€œemotedā€ your wings 5 times in a row, the game muted you for spamming for 30 seconds to a minute…

Just logged in and got the Tier 1 rewards!!! VERY surprised and HAPPY about this!

Farming efficiency. I didn’t understand how the event worked at first either. I even posted about it saying I was getting no goblins. Then I figured it out. I’ve filled over 3 stash tabs worth of full boss mat stacks just from the goblins, in one afternoon/evening.

I have only seen about 10 Goblins in the game. So what the heck is going on. Blizzard takes something fun and turns it into something screwed up. Goblins have always been fun, and the fun just left the game! GREAT going Blizzard!

Don’t farm Dungeons or Helltide. Farm regular Overworld. Especially Nahantu if you have the Expansion. Use your mount and zoom around from one goblin to the next. Each one goblin will spawn a second. Take greed shrines if you find them and kill large mobs/elites to spawn more goblins. Once you think you’ve covered most of a zone move on to the next. By the time you circle back around all areas will be reset with fresh goblins.

Edit: A Tip. Only pick up Ancestrals, Prisms, and Boss Mats. Not only to speed things up and reduce clutter, but because it also leaves you markers on your map cause of the legendaries so you’ll know where you’ve already farmed.

There is no internal counter. It’s a made-up counter. It’s entirely a marketing project. It’s a promotion to sell more copies of VoH, or to boost expac internal engagement metrics, for quarterly figures for their bosses & the shareholders. It has almost nothing to do with killing lots of goblins (you ā€˜farm’ them for the individual drops, that is all… it is the selfish endeavor you hoped it would be)…

They would never announce such a ā€œcommunityā€ incentive, with a cosmetic as the main draw, if the reward weren’t guaranteed. Their bosses would never allow it. This part is simply beyond dispute.

Yet the cosplaying factions are trolling or fuming at each other… KEK.

Another lame and bad event. Same like the other previous two.

After reading the players feedback I have no desire to participate.

I don’t want to claim anything. This event should have hordes of goblins everywhere.

That would have been fun. Perhaps S7 or S8 will be better. Who knows. We’ll see.

It’s simply rational to at least log in, and probably to kill 1+ goblins… in case they actually devoted resources to tracking individual kills, and in case it’s an actual requirement that you kill 1+ gobos during the event (which acc’d to the terms it isn’t).

But you know… minimal effort for guaranteed outcome, assuming the ā€œcommunityā€ rewards are guaranteed, which imo they are.

Was really hoping for increased goblins in undercity so I could farm refinement tributes - but that would just be too rewarding, huh.

This would be a pretty good event if it was S7. The problem now is there isn’t much reason to be in the open world and the goblins don’t seem to be increased in hell tides.

Of course, if they didn’t increase in witch tides it would be pretty lame as well.

Uh… yeah… it isn’t. Created new char (btw SB is free-to-try again), collected 2 gobo bags, dumped contents into very empty stash.

Farm me some more goodies, peons!

(Jk, either the counter is meaningless or the farm bots are doing all the work, so quit yer whining back there!)

There’s a counter on the anchievment screen…

I know that, you know that, but you must aknowledge that this ā€œincentiveā€ is indeed a leechers paradise. They simply get the reward no matter what… LOL

If it we could get rid of leechers that crawl in other ingame activities, that would be a win…

I meant toward this event… so for example, if you have a billion gobos killed in your achievement tracker, but you kill zero during this event. But turns out… no such resources devoted (to tracking). Log in, take the bags, log out. In true goblin spirit, if you think about it.

IMO if no player killed a single goblin anywhere in the world, the rewards would still get doled out - maybe in a different time frame. My suspicion is that no one - not even Blizzard - can prove this wrong.

Otoh, let’s say my guess is 100% wrong, and it is based on kill count… my opinion then is that farm bots (including the human kind) are sooooo out-farming the ā€œleechā€ whiners in threads like this, that the whiners should understand they are leeching (off of the pros).

EITHER WAY, the point of the event was to get people interested in VoH. This became clear to me when I logged in & was invited to try Spiritborn for free until Jan 2(?). This invitation didn’t appear on the launcher (there’s an older one on the launcher from mid-late Nov.)

…which means it was rather impromptu. Add this to the main rewards being VoH-exclusive, and it’s clear this event didn’t even come from the devs, but from the marketing team. To everyone cosplaying that you’re putting in real ā€˜work’, please have some self-respect people. :sob: Farm the gobos for the loot. Stop whining.
