Game crashes over and over again randomly. Usually when teleporting - but not always. Many times it says corrupted files….trash game
I think the last update broke the game. This is happening to me as well and it’s basically unplayable.
Happening to me too no warning just crash. Just gonna go play something else.
I cant even finish a Dungeon run before getting disconnected making the game unplayable now. Blizzard needs to come out with a patch soon that fixes this or im asking for a refund!
New update - now its crashing because it is running out of memory…..Love it churning through 32gb + whatever Vram + 8gb on video card… after a whole 10 minutes of play.
And which CPU are you using?
Ryzen 7 5700X OC’d. Why? It’s not a hardware issue. It’s D4 software bugs. I still get the “Game files corrupted” too. Its just now it added a new issue on top of all the other crashes. So now I can run out of memory in 5 minutes, or I can play for 20 minutes before game files corrupt…..I mean its a total crap show. Been playing since Beta invite without a single crash; new patch it’s crash city.
Overclocked hardware is highly likely to cause crashes in Blizzard games. Noticed it a lot when Overwatch launched, and it’s possible other games encounter the same circumstances.
Back when Blizzard offered courtesy troubleshooting, they rarely chimed in on cases with overclocked hardware. And when they did, they always recommended removing it.
If you want to fix your crashing and memory leaks, change your graphic settings to low and click low graphics option. You have to remeber, it’s not optimized for high end graphics, it’s like diablo immortal, you can play it on your phone, the fancy graphics are a thrown together add on.
D4 is known to be rife with technical issues, OC or not.
The teleporting bug specifically has been a hot mess for many seasons now, and well over a year.

I volunteer to troubleshoot technical issues with players. Many issues have resolutions, but they aren’t guaranteed.
However, I cannot collect or pass on your opinions about the state of specific bugs or whether Blizzard is addressing them. Adding off-topic comments about a different issue to someone’s thread is considered spam, since it attempts to derail the thread. Please follow the forum rules and stop doing this. Thank you.
Love how they deleted my response. I’ll just summarize it - If you are a “tech” who thinks that a stable hardware overclock is the thing that is causing the crashes after 2 years of playing (without issue at the same clock speed); you might want to do something else with your time.
So you’ve been running your hardware outside the intended specs for at least two years.
In the past, players were asked to run stock clocks on hardware if they wanted to proceed with troubleshooting. The lines from Blizzard’s template were similar to the ones still present on their public-facing self-help support docs: “Overclocked hardware can cause system instability. Disable any active overclocking on your hardware, including factory overclocking.”
One or two other Blizzard games running fine — or playing for a bit without issues — doesn’t guarantee that overclocks won’t cause a problem at some point. I saw the same cases in the first few years of Overwatch, and similar responses from players blaming Blizzard.
Ultimately, this is a P2P troubleshooting forum, but you’ve been given the same advice Blizz staff used to offer. Repeatedly disparaging the game and volunteers here, or saying you work in a potentially related field to appear superior, won’t change the advice. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
I just recently enabled XMP profile on my RAM to bring it up to the advertised speeds.
32GB of RAM is showing near full utilization in Performance Monitor, but the game is running smoothly, as is Windows.
But it’s an overclock. So, if things get unstable, I will shift it back off XMP to a stable profile.
This is a test and try, but I cannot expect it to be stable when I push it beyond the recommended limits.
Ive noticed that it does use tons of memory, why? My game freezes when out of memory, then i log out, stupid to have to do this though. I also crash , mostly when teleporting to Temis.
You don’t know what you are talking about. You are quoting a manual -not a primary source. Please explain how clock speeds have anything to do with software stability……I don’t have a system stability issue. That is demonstrated by the fact that it works for years and WORKS FOR EVERY GAME ON THE MARKET. I have over 200 games on steam, almost all AAA games. Heck, I run BF6 without ANY ISSUES - not one crash on BF6 (which that game is prone to bugs). The reality is, when the xpac came out they introduced a ton of bugs and your solution is to blame the consumer. You can’t say crap like “…outside intended specs” WHAT SPECIFICATION? There is not MAXIMUM CLOCK speed….. I hope you get paid to spout this nonsense.
Temis has a lot of character models, which means your CPU and RAM are loading them.
What specs do you have, LustyImp?
Each component in a PC has a recommendation of where it operates at. Going beyond that, via overclocking, pushes hardware beyond those recommended limits, which can lead to instability. I am not saying it won’t work, but going beyond those recommendations can cause instability.
I seem to have the same problem as being kicked out for no reason whatsoever. Every day I have to put up with this at least twice I have I 9 1900 CPUA 3060 GPU and a fiber optic Internet 580 mPS. It constantly says you have been disconnected from the network because of the server stop I just don’t know what else to do Been going on for a while
You are incorrect, I am an Electrical Engineer and what you are saying is fundamentally incorrect.
For starters, given the fact he took the time to actually answer your comment maybe the “you don’t know what you are talking about” is not really the way to react to his actual desire to help… Regarding your claim about stablity: I tweak and build custom gaming computers for a living and he is not wrong. You may have 200 games on steam, and run BF6 without any issues (don’t really see why you think that means anything regarding your issues with Diablo IV but hey good for you) but since you said, and I quote “for years” I assume you have a pretty old rig which means that your Overclocked hardware has been running beyond its safe limits “for years” and I am going to assume that when you say Overclocked that does not include an Undervolt so the strain during those “years” has been even heavier. Regarding Diablo IV issues in particular, wether Blizzard admits it or not D4 has quite a lot of problems in regards to memory leaks, asset streaming oversaturating buffers and causing a momentary bottleneck that, specially in OC’ed hardware can mean an inmediate crash. I also have overclocked my cpu, ram, gpu, and tweaked almost every level of my whole system yet for D4 if I use anything but the default values on my gpu the game will most probably crash.
Now, regardless of whereas your crashes are due to instability, due to D4 being prone to crash becouse some engine quirks I will recomend that you at try and do two things and see if your issues get resolved. Number 1, whenever you play D4 set your GPU profile to default values (assuming you use MSI afterburner simply save 1 profile at stock so you can keep your OC for the rest of your games), number 2: go to Steam or Battlenet, whichever you use, click on options for Diablo 4 and on the Additional Command Line Arguments add the following: -disableds save it and try and launch the game. It might fix your issues. If you want further help then please print out a report of your system using either HWinfo or Aida and attach it on your answer.
Wish you luck with fixing the issue ![]()
