Cost of Platinum why so darn high- are they high?

The fact that I can just throw some $$ down to make my character all decked out makes me not want to play.

Just don’t buy it, problem solved

It’s just worthless cosmetics anyway

I’m talking about using your money for cosmetics dude. What are you talking about?

the games on sale for 30 right now, the cosmetic’s are 30 dollars… LOL

The best thing you can do is simply not buy it, don’t promote it to attract attention.

Just let it die naturally. Vote with your money.

If the market thinks it’s overpriced they will know from the data.

That’s probably the amount that they estimated people are willing to spend on cosmetics;

They made 150 mil just from microtrasactions alone; so they estimated right i would say

spoiler: you have also paid for the cosmetics that are free in the game…this work of the developers must also be paid for.

the skins will probably not have fallen from the sky…

in real life i can buy a lot more junk than a skin…and that without big problems at every corner…

Gonna need to either up the use of your hardware for their purposes or charge you more. ***Microsoft hold my beer.

Nothing on the store should be over $1. The reason they are $20 is people buy them and Bliz is a greedy scummy company so they have no incentive to lower the pricetag.

Excuse me for raising this thread from the graveyard.

I wonder if perhaps they don’t understand what they are doing. If your theory is correct (and I presume it is), then they may be alienating a large playerbase (despite the wealthy ‘wales’ keeping the sales coming in), and it makes people feel that the game isn’t for them in the same way it is for others. It’s not how I feel, precisely. If they numbers are dwindling for playerbase; perhaps try to make some of the most fun cosmetics reduced in price; or perhaps create findable cosmetics in game that are as appealing as the store bought ones.

Yes, perhaps they make more money this way; but I presume that is only a short-term win.

I for one have spent many hundreds of dollars on cosmetics for various games; but after buying one or two for D4; I just cant justify the high price. You don’t get to interact or enjoy in quite so much as you can in regular 3d person games.

On the other hand; if they reduced the cost to say, 7 dollars per set; i’d buy all of them. At $10, id buy 10 or 20 of them. Some of them look amazing, and are really exceptional works of art.

Today is the business of MTX but it won’t be long until this generation gets tired of it. Many companies already got their fair share of millions to billions from MTX but as you already are seeing it is no longer working for some places just like the BP it doesn’t bring in a good reputation to a major known company and some in Japan already are removing it and focusing on the old ways. By then it just will take a matter of time until this system is gone just like the lootbox ways.

Every now and then they get me with neat armor. The Jaina skin for sorc was too good to pass up. Or Pale Perry. But i also dont necessarily disagree with MTX. But, if boycotting the store would get some bugs fixed, i can stop purchasing crap

I stopped caring about transmogs when I couldn’t equip most of them on my Spiritborn in s6. And people have had theirs go missing.

Blizz will never regain the good will they once held.

Pricing is the only reason I will not purchase anything. Surprising part is I am the player with lots of disposable income. The type they are relying on to make purchases.

It is a scummy tactic. Unfortunately, it is not limited to the cash shop. The whole game is manipulated to the same end. This is the main reason the game is such a clown show. From the start it has been a bare minimum effort sales tool.

Until the money stops flowing nothing will change.

The reality is that blizzard is actually losing vast sums of money by throwing so much developing power toward Diablo 4 for no reason. This includes developing these skins.

Just as HotS couldn’t compete in the space against LoL or DotA, Diablo is failing to compete against PoE and LE.

I don’t wanna be that guy that brings up streaming as a measure of success, but Diablo is 100% in the U-bend on that front compared to the other ARPGs (albeit they are all somewhat low, but Diablo is far away the lowest) and nobody can defend that.

Play what one likes and makes them happy yes, but stop acting like this game has the best business model and Blizzard knows what they are doing. Did they know what they were doing with HotS? There are examples of failures within this organization, players gotta stop acting like they are invincible genius machines. They do bleed.

It’s honestly very simple.

If Blizzard (or ANY COMPANY IN THIS WORLD) Sells anything that I happen to like, I’ll buy it.
I work, I get paid, I can manage my money and if it’s a good investment for what I want then I’m gonna buy it.

Simple, It’s Done, It’s Easy. There shoudln’t have to be a debate or an issue over it.

What, you can’t afford it? Get a Job and earn money, and Save it to buy what you want. This is how the world works btw…

The skins are outsourced.

Well… you must know i guess. amazing how many people worry about blizzards income lol.

If noone would buy skins at these prices, theyd be cheaper.

poe 2 will have to be seen. But LE… lol, really? that game is pretty much dead. I mean, they had a few good ideas there, like the Auction house or ssf mode thingy they got going. But yea, thats about it.

… or was that an april fools and i fell for it?

It sounds like you have 15,000 posts. Game has been active for 666 days.

That’s 22.5 posts per day.

You really need to get a life. I think everyone that plays any game would agree that if you are spending this much time on the forums, you really need psychological help. I care about my fellow human beings and you Nyurei need to stop. Consider this your wake up call. I’m serious. Go do and focus on something else.

what a boring reply.

im just too curious about your deep analysis on how blizzard is losing money because they dont develop the game to whatever you want =)

Please enlighten us =D

Diablo is the LoL in this example. We may have issues with gameplay elements, but there is no objective denying that it has made ridiculous amounts of money compared to any would be competitors.
