First of all, I’ve never played the DLC; this is just feedback based on IGN’s review. IGN’s review stated that the War Plans lacked cooperative gameplay. Below is my suggestion, and again, I haven’t played the DLC.
My suggestion is a “cooperative mode for War Plans,” where team members can join the captain’s War Plan. Of course, the captain’s War Plan must be started from the beginning, and team members who join halfway through the War Plan must wait until the captain and other team members have finished playing before they can join.
That’s my suggestion; of course, you can think I’m talking nonsense.
Typically they don’t act upon feedback until the update/expansion is out, and people have had actual time to play it. They then will wait for more people to chime in, see how the wind is shifting, and make changes down the line. Now that could be the next season, or it could be the next expansion when they make these changes, if they make them at all.
devs are already kind for granting some rewards to followers, otherwise it would be a total mess to script the updates for the different war plan skill trees.
Currently if i play with friends, every time we do some activities they feel like a waste of time and opportunity to not capitalize on the possible rewards.
No they don’t. They simply didn’t think of this aspect. Don’t give them too much credit.
And people get carried through the entire game since D2. If they want poeople to get carried, they wouldn’t even create a multiplayer game in the first place. Your point is?
Agree with the post title but siting “IGN review” as the only source is more hurtful than good. Regardless of being correct. IGN will update their review with 10 reasons why this isn’t a real problem and ok… when blizzard’s check clears.
Maybe their codes can’t do a copy the war plan of party leader if you have none and he is at 0/5 or whatever number he is.
But they should address that in the future. For now, they give at least 100 % xp for the plans and a small chest. That is ok. Or will be after the patch with this changes.
I am saying their reasoning for not including the ability to share war plans. They don’t want you to get carried in some Gigachad’s backpack. I didn’t contradict anything.
People’s war plans are at different progress levels. It doesn’t work to share them. Mine is rank 5. If someone else’s is rank 1 why should I be able to share it with him? It defeats the purpose of progressing them through ranks.
Developer’s Note: we’re so happy players are enjoying War Plans, however a common pain point we’ve seen is party play. Right now, when you jump in to help a friend complete a War Plans node, you’re supposed to keep earning rewards and progression. Helpers should get a base loot cache and 80% of the activity’s meta progression XP, so your time still feels worthwhile when playing together.
Issue: the cache is currently bugged and is not dropping for players.
Fix: this hotfix resolves this issue. It will also:
They should not be listening to people being mad that grouping is more rewarding in an ALWAYS ONLINE video game. (It should be more rewarding, it’s more effort to group than play solo).
