Diablo has always been about heaven and hell. Why not create an event twice a day called hell gates.
It would start with all regions having hell tides. All world bosses would be summoned in a region to defend that gate. All mobs would be lvl 105.
If you successfully defeat the defenders you may enter the portal at your own risk.
Once in hell you would need resistances of its own by either acquiring gear, or forging it from the hell forge itself.
What do you guys think?

Immortal does that…a few times a year lol.
Well, anything is better than nothing. More timed events would give players something to look forward to during the drab mind-numbing insomnia-solving grind.
I say scrap the world bosses appearing solo, and have them come out all at the same time, every 6 hours, with legions of demons behind them.
Great way to introduce new enemies, or bring back fan favorites from the past 25 years like the Black Knights and the demonic Mages (skeletal and Hell mages variations).
See: who needs diversity hires when you can hire actual talent?

Cool, but what I really want is to run Act 7 again with pit-level monsters.

How about you are running any content in the game, and the lighting changes, things start getting interesting, and Bam there’s a Boss invader all up in your face. What do you do? I’ll roll the D20s.
I say keep the world bosses but give them henchmen as backup. Two or three henchmen per boss should do it. But an army works too.
Let’s do Hellgates. In London.
I’d be down for an idea like that.
