I want this to reach the devs and don’t see a Forum section for Ideas or Feedback outside of PTR and as a Console Player only, I cannot play PTR at the moment.
For a long time now, I have watched this game take nerf after nerf after nerf and continue to put out a good season followed by a very upsetting season and an okay season. I have kept quiet for a number of them and only reaching out to the forums when I’m struggling to continue for the season. At this time now I feel it only necessary to voice concerns and hopefully good Ideas that I don’t want credit for in hopes they are heard.
Rather than heading towards a direction that players want, I feel like the current team is pushing an agenda to kill the title instead of making it something that would continuously cast a shadow over it’s competition (i.e. Path of Exile 2, Last Epoch, etc..)
So, here are some Ideas to Rebalance the game and stop this endless nerfing, and maybe even push some buffs out in the future seasons as this Season “14” Feels dead as it just started.
- In some cases I agree that rebalancing items would be a good start, because, I too, don’t want the meta to be Lightning Ball Sorcerer, Storm Druid, Blood-wave Necro, Evade Spiritborn, WW Barb, Arbiter Paladin or Dance of Knives Rogue every single Season either and want some variety in the Mythics that should be used too, because Andariel’s Visage and Lycandor, and other items haven’t been touched in a while and 200 of the 300+ aspects are rarely used, in addition to over 90 of the 200+ uniques . These should be looked at and buffed by a lot to compete with and more frequently take the best-in-slot space rather than continuing to nerf the builds that are played every season. This may have unintended power boosts but the players want that.
- To make things more interesting and entice players into building differently than using the same meta every season, Make seasonal Paragon Boards for each class. By doing this you can buff or nerf the board rather than having obsolete items going into the eternal realm. (Remember Chaos Armor?)
- For instance, Making a Paragon Board focused heavily on Thorns Damage with a Legendary node stating “The amount of toughness you have increases the amount of thorns you have and increases thorns damage dealt by up to 250%” or “A specific elemental damage type increases Thorns you have”
- Or Making a Paragon Board with a specific Element type buff to push players into building into a different build entirely for a season. (i.e. Physical damage becomes cold damage and gets a massive buff for Necromancer, but blood skills are not affected)
- For Season 14 and beyond Remember Chaos Armor, now it’s Mythic Armor but with a crafting limit of 1. In most cases, many players go through a season without a mythic and few find the ones they desire farming bosses or going through activities that give them. Crafting them at the Jeweler or Blacksmith has been a staple for most, but being forced to farm for any item, to then farm for pandemonium fragments, and then upgrading them to mythic for the item to be randomized or be completely different, just isn’t fun. Then when you get that one, you are forced into only upgrading more of that one to find a better one unless you can miraculously find the item as mythic. It’s just not enjoyable for anyone. I would prefer no limit, or reverting this decision entirely and just buffing uniques and some mythics as a whole. Heir of Perdition can stay at 15%, it’s time for a new Mythic Helmet to take over for a while or make an entirely new mythic helmet and chest piece. And maybe make new mythic gloves, pants and boots.
- That being said, More Charm sets would be nice that change further how classes are played. Or adding seasonal Charms that alter gameplay entirely to keep players hunting for something unique or different.
- Economy in this game with the War plans is fantastic, keep them forever or change them slightly but, I love how the leveling is now including the gems, gold, materials.
- Can we get some love in the Citadel, and I hate saying this but PVP. These haven’t been touched in a while and would love to see some changes either by adding them into the warplan as an either or scenario with different branches for the two.
Anyway, these are some changes I would like to see and hope they see the Blizzard team’s eyes and minds.
