I have been browsing content creators’ videos, pretty much all of them agree that Necro’s the worst endgame class, due to lack of damage , toughness and efficiency. Necro players can somehow accept it’s the most immobile class, but please at least makes it endgame viable.
Bone spear build is the most trending one among players, and can somehow manage endgame contents, but sacrificing minions. Other builds like blood or darkness, or pure minion all are not really considered. I think devs should at least make sure minions can survive, given enuf points are invested in skill tree and paragon boards. The prospect and educational guesses regarding necro’s endgame make me sad, cuz I love the concept of this class a lot, and I have been spending most time playing necro during all sorts of betas.
Personally I love the idea of blood surge + corpse explosion + minion, but I will probably be forced to try the bone build.
Also, quick question, overpower is a damage mechanism that’s factored with health and fortify amount, but since character’s health pool doesnt’ really scale with monster toughness in the endgame, does that make overpower sorta obsolete

I just want a good endgame summon build. That is the CORE of the necromancer to me.
Hopefully on release there will be more insight on whether summoning is viable endgame but considering how slow the necro is compared to the fluidity of other classes as well as overall build diversity, necros need summons to be buffed imo. They were overnerfed.
No need for afk buffs but constantly spamming summon and the slow movement of the chart is simply not fun.

Try to check Krip build, seems pretty solid even endgame, ill main that in preseason
Funny, I had someone else tell me about Krip putting out a vid regarding a good endgame summoning build as well. I just haven’t checked it out yet. It might persuade me to go Necro on release instead of sorc. Either way, can’t wait to play!
I think there’s enough stuff to have a good minionmancer, but adjustments may be done along the way if no one manages to play with minions decently.
The thing with minions is that it’s the best synergy is basically corpse skills, as you can have max minions and max corpse in the same build, and you don’t even need to use a basic skill at all.

Decrepyfy, spam corpse explosion (heatseeker corpse explosion
), always at full resource, always fortified, always applying damage multipliers for corpse explosion (stun, vulnerable and slowed), always applying chill and frozen, blood mist panic button… you have everything from huge damage dealing (minions and corpse explosion) to survivability.
Some changes can be made, like the golem type, or tendrils instead of decrepify, or bone spear instead of corpse explosion (kripp build basically), but I think corpse explosion + decrepy will work better as decrepy reduces the army of the dead cooldown, wich when paired with the Unyielding Commander’s Aspect seems quite brutal.
Darkness/shadow is a very strong build. Easily top 5 in group play I think.
Even in the betas, once my group started killing and those pools started spreading, they covered the screen. It was almost as easy for the group as my sorc.
And you believe them? On me, I think I am better than on some of those content creator’s. They are not god. They are just gamers like us.
I would not listen to any of them. I would make my own build… it also depends on the loot/gear I get. We will see.
