Players are starting to have a weird dependence on third party software and opinions nowadays.
If your brain was like a normal human beings you would understand how stupid that statement was.
Does it interface with Blizzard’s game in any way? Esp to given info not given by the game natively? If so, is it approved by Blizzard?
If the answer to the second part is no, then people can’t use it. Seeing as Blizzard is not going to approve any third party software or overlays (most likely), they are NEVER something a person should use with a Blizzard game.
They won’t do it. If they don’t control and make the software then it can change at any time. They won’t approve anything. There is an approved list - the game, and only the game should be used with the game. It would also be impossible to keep up with all the stuff people would want on/off a list. The easy answer is simply no.
It’s what happens when the PC Master Race thinks they are above the rest and use mods/hacks/3rd party software to get a “leg” up on the other players…
Learned a lesson today didn’t you??
Read the TOS next time…
LOL!
Any reasonable person can not read the ToS and still not get banned.
How is having icons directly overlayed to the client not an advantage over others? Of course it is cheating.
This is a 100% server sided game, what even could a hack do? Blizz does not care about bots but they ban for overlays like helltide chest maps?
They don’t need to. It’s clear in the ToS.
" * any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that can be used in connection with the Platform and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay or other functionality;"
That pretty much covers any third party program that overlays or hooks into the game. The important part is not expressly authorized by Blizzard. Since they haven’t authorized any third party programs, none are allowed. The ToS isn’t long nor complicated. Definitely worth a read.
They care about bots too and ban those.
Honestly. They should go ahead and ban anyone advocating breaking TOS too. People just don’t know when to keep silent nowadays. It’s like we live in a world full of people who would accidentally dry snitch their buddy and not even know it.
Breaking TOS = Bad
Advocacy of breaking TOS = Bad
Advocacy of breaking ToS because you are upset at the state of the game = Bad & Sad
In d3 they only banned bots after a while so the botters have the financial incentive to buy new accounts. If they ban bots immediately then it is not worth it to farm the game. They need to let them roam for a week to get enough gold to make the business viable.
Please google “d4 items for sale” and “d4 gold for sale” and tell me bots are getting banned or not. I mean I know you cannot admit it but at this point there was no bots banned so far. None. Zero. Prove me wrong.
Pirating is illegal too. When a company gets a pirating site shut down they just make a new one. Same with bots. That doesn’t mean they don’t deal with them as fast as they can…
They banned 150k account in Classic WoW last month alone. The number of bots is just crazy.
There are Chinese forums you’d have to turn on Google Translate to read. Definitely getting banned. They’re not the only ones botting but they tend to be the loudest about it.
Sure they did. But the point is: if they ban the bots immediately they won’t come back because their business model is relying on farming gold.
If blizzard lets them roam around for a week they farm and sell a bit more gold the account is worth. Then they buy new accounts from the profit after they get banned and blizzard is happy because its a lot of revenue.
Blizzard can then tell you they banned 150k bots, and they can tell you two weeks from now that there is an even better news: they banned another 150k bots.
Too bad its the same 150k bots. This is how the world works.
You keep moving the goal post. Good luck, have fun.
Bans normally happen in waves to avoid the botters being able to update their botting software faster than the detection tools can be updated. Smaller waves would lead to less overall bots being detected. It is an arms race not much different than ads vs ad blockers.
What goalpost, are you a chatgpt bot? I just told a mod that stop spreading that blizzard is banning bots when there is no proof of that at all but the internet is full of d4 gold.
I have a feeling OP gonna be unbanned because someone at Blizzard I am going to assume is going to look at what Mobalytics and realize that taking someones $100 over a silly overlay could be interpreted as being a dirty thief.
I’d be very surprised if Bliz doesn’t unban OP with a warning not to use any more overlays going forward.
Can you show proof? I hate Google.
