Hello, so first off, I loved what I played in the Beta so far. The gripes I have may be minor and I may be a minority. I’ve reported a couple bugs but had some additional thoughts and suggestions regarding other areas I’ve seen others mention.
1) Subtitles - I know it was beta, but even though I had them turned off in settings, they would not turn off to save my life. They are too distracting for me and hope it will be addressed.
2) Damage Numbers - I am glad I can turn these off however I would also like to turn off the “Immune” and other actions, which I assumed would have turned off with the numbers. If they have to be separate from the numbers, can there be another toggle switch?
3) Players Names - Besides numbers, I’d like a way to turn off players names. When I teleport into a town I see so many all over the screen, doesn’t look good. Breaks my emersion when I see “BigBarb29” walking around. If we could get the option to toggle that on or off, would be awesome.
4) Difficulties - I know early game we get Adventure (Easy) and Veteran (Normal), I’ve heard and feel in a similar fashion that Vet isn’t as hard as it could be and thought perhaps you can make a 3rd difficulty (Normal) and move Vet up to (Hard), tweak it a little bit more and might be a really nice, sweet spot.
5) Level Scaling - Along with difficulties, I heard many players mention they didn’t care for the level scaling. So, I thought of 2 possible solutions,
a) on Easy and Normal modes (taking into account we get a 3rd) there is no level scaling, it will fulfill the power fantasy and when you return, you’ll breath in their direction and they die. Then on Hard, you leave it on so everything stays relevant to the player’s challenge.
b) Since the other difficulties open up after the main campaign and level 50, maybe don’t level scale at all through the Main Story, once we finish it, hit level 50 and open the end game content, then enable level scaling so going to those nightmare dungeons, we get a challenge rather than riding through old lands with no consequences.
6) Coop - So again, I know this was beta, but it was so hard trying to group up with someone. I was on Xbox as was my buddy, we both saw each other in the social tab under the Xbox friends list, click on invite and it did nothing. We weren’t showing up on the first tab, Blizz friends list, wasn’t sure why. Thought we had to complete the prolong first, but still nothing. Finally, I created a clan, had him join, then BAM, he showed up on my Blizz list and we could invite or join, whatever. Same with my PC friend, we couldn’t play together until I invited him into my clan. I am sure this will get fixed, but it was a pain. Wanted to bring it up.
7) Ultimate Skill Button - I’ve seen this sentiment as well, where we get 6 slots for skills, and the Ult takes one of those. Right now, on Xbox, the B button is dodge, if you moved the dodge over to the right thumbstick like it was in D3, that would free up a button to allow players to set Ult wherever they want. Then we get 6 skills plus an Ult. Or a step further, when you press a trigger, right or left, it changes the display to show different skills. So, then the 4 face buttons for 4 skills, hold RT and get 4 different skills then LT get 4 more skills, and maybe hold both together and get another set. Then Right bumper could be Ult and Left Bumper could be Heal.
8) Character Customization - Basically it would be nice if we had more than 4 faces, they all look to similar IMHO, and we need more hair. Unless we will be unlocking hair and eye colors through gameplay, I’d like to see more options to diversify more from everyone else.
Other than these, I honestly had a great time, looking forward to this weekend and testing out couch-coop. Hope everyone has a great day!
