I’ve grouped up twice since playing D4. Both were random invites from another doing Helltides.
I prefer to play solo.
Looking forward to trying the group content before I bash it on the forums.

Your analogy is poor. This is more like going to a type of restaurant that has been 100% keto since its inception nearly 30 years ago. They’ve opened up quite a few iterations of their menu for these same 30 years, but it’s always been keto. You’ve enjoyed the variety of options in this menu for the entire time this restaurant has been in business. Now, they’re launching a new menu, a good chunk of it is full of sugar, and they’re gating certain areas of the restaurant off to people who are only eating off of the new section of the menu.
Sure, it’s not the end of the world. There are still other options available for you, but you’re disappointed that they’re going so far off base from industry standards. You also have rabid fanboys of this restaurant screeching at you from the rafters that keto is fully optional, you don’t NEEEEED to be keto.

That’s fair. Group-only content in a Diablo game is bizarre.

That’s your perogative and I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Most of the people posting here aren’t against group content, they’re against exclusive rewards gates behind group content.

It’s irrelevant to many how easy it is to group up. That’s not the issue for most soloers.

Other than getting my pet, I never use the wardrobe. I don’t care about cosmetics.
I do care about new content though, which this is.
We also don’t know what the tempering scroll drop rate is outside of the citadel. We know one per week is guaranteed. Can we get this scroll at the same rate as those who play the citadel? If so, I don’t care either. I have 0 faith in Blizzard to get this right, so I’ll wait til the expansion is on a sale.

Pretty sure there has been a niche of D2 PvP players existing in the ARPG community for 20 years.
Them being PvP enjoyers doesn’t make them lesser ARPG players. And we even got some PvP in D4, even though it requires a minimum of 2 players.
A lot of people enjoy playing ARPGs with friends. Not all players are the same.
I mean, I agree it is dumb to have this restriction, as the restriction really doesn’t add anything aside from being an annoyance, but I am sure playing the dungeon with friends can be fun.

No it doesnt. You can get 100% of the PVP rewards solo, by getting splinters from the boss and trash in the PVP zone and delivering them
Which is fine, nobody is asking for the option to do DC in groups to be removed
But the grouping shouldnt be FORCED like it is now, we should have the option to do it both in groups and solo

Yep. Ive said this in too many threads to count, allow soloers to enter and there wouldnt be a problem.
I have a buddy who plays from time to time, so I might give it a go once or twice. But if it was soloable and I liked it, I would play it a lot more.

How many group activities are there in the game? Oh yeah, one. Totally unplayable for all solo players!
It would at least be helpful if you waited until after the release to start whining, then you could assess how relevant it will be…
It’s arguably VoH’s main feature.
Everything in the game can be done in a group.
