Master your Power in Season of Blood — Diablo IV — Blizzard News.

On the Dolmen Stone, where Boulder interacts with Hurricane. I think skills interacting with each other is going to be the Plus Ultra for ARPG’s. If this is done across the board for lots of skill combinations, in a meaningful way, you’ll be looking at the future of the ARPG genre.

I could be wrong, but this is what my gut feeling is telling me.

If those 2 skills are actually viable now I’ll agree, but didn’t see a buff to either one and with crit/vuln nerf they will do even less, 920 gear will make up for some of it I guess

It was underwhelming, although I do appreciate the work that the 3 people did. The changes are mostly good, but they don’t target the biggest issues. I will need to see how balancing actually plays out. Seems like crit + vuln got a huge nerf without enough compensation. I also don’t see how builds that never had good crit + vuln, like all fire sorc, are helped by any of this.

The biggest issues for me are end-game content and itemization. It’s two sides of the same coin for me. I don’t think higher level items are really going to help when so many affixes are useless and seem to be slanted to roll on the lower side. Finding an item with good affixes that also have good rolls is an exercise in futility. Unless uniques are now good across the board and can replace your other items in the end game, I don’t see what has changed.

Just finished watching the Developer Update Live Stream and it was honest and informative. Thanks!

I do have some tips and thoughts:

  • I was expecting more buffs to pretty much all the existing uniques and I’m not seeing them in the patch notes. Is it just me or?
  • It would be great if there was a free demo for Diablo IV with just Act I on Steam. Players would then find out for free if the game would work out for them or not. Now they buy the game for $70 and have less than two hours to check it out. If they find out after two hours that level scaling or the zoomed in camera or something else in the game isn’t for them and they can’t turn it off then they will be angry and leave negative reviews. Negative reviews on Steam have a huge impact on future Diabo IV sales on Steam. If you also add the shop (purchases should carry over to the full game) to the free demo it’s a win, win.
  • A lot of the itemization changes seem rather small and safe. Hopefully these are preparations for a major shift in itemization. A shift towards simpler, more straightforward affixes on items, like in for example Diablo II, and putting affixes and powers where they make the most sense. It would be great for the developers to have a clear vision statement on Diablo IV itemization, about which bonusses go in the skill tree, which go in the paragon board, which on the rare items, which on gems and which on the legendary items and why.
  • The Lapisvein mount and the Midnight Harness mount armor in the Blizzcon Collection look absolutely stunning. Would be great if there was a way to earn them either in-game or from the battle pass, or buy them seperately from the in-game store, because if you’re interested in just these then the $50 price tag is relatively high.

Edit: Found the Unique Item changes thanks to Lykotic. Looks like a lot. Was hoping for increased chance to bounce for Eaglehorn (50%-100% instead of 30%-80%) and increased range, because I like it when you get more out of a unique item through its interaction and through a player’s skill instead of raw damage multipliers.

The compensation for the MASSIVE nerf to dps was minuscule

All we got in return was “we will be adjusting enemies bro” trust me
Just trust me

Mind clarifying what this entails?

Are your reducing enemy hp by 300% ??
And why wont they clarify

Sorry, the hype i had for s2 is now dead

Under Class Changes. Class Uniques were put under their respective classes

“Massive nerfs”. The builds that were destroying the universe got brought down to earth like they should have been and others have been brought up. The nerf to vuln/crit will be negligible on everything but the meta faceroll builds…

If your hype was killed by no longer being able to solo a world boss in two minutes, and now have to solo it in three and a half minutes then dueces. The sky isn’t falling, even if your favorite meta build has to take a well deserved hit.

Do we know what time on the 17th season 1 ends and season 2 starts?

Max item level is 925
