If we can’t both agree that forgotten souls should NOT be time locked, then we fundamentally disagree on my base premise and we can agree to disagree.
I don’t even know what those are lol. I tried coming back for Season 2 and it’s just like, why? But regardless, timegating has existed for a long time to keep people progressing at a rate that allows developers to make more content without having people already at the end of the previous stuff.
Oh, it’s one of the base mats you need to reroll stats on your gear.
If you clear a full helltide for an hour, hit about 4 upper levels chest (mysterious or steel) and clear elites and stuff (click on the veins and fiend roses) - you end up about 40 an hour.
Prior to this patch, weapons yielded forgotten souls 100% of the time, and you could roll obols and directionally get enough to roll.
Post patch, they changed this to a much lower overall rate, for all legendaries, so it was nerfed hard enough that practically speaking you need to do helltides to get this mat.
I think it was a good move to make helltides more of a end game activity, but locking it out in a time gate was a mistake.
It isnt the time sink that is an issue though.
It is that one player can play 10 hours in a day, and have access to 10 helltides, while another can also play 10 hours in a day and have access to no helltides. For no meaningful reason. Solely based on which hours of the day they happen to be playing those 10 hours.
Yeah, that does sound like garbage. Re-rolling gear in D4 sucks in general. Should really be less expensive. Especially if you want to play multiple classes a season since inherently, some builds will completely disappear after a season ends if it relies on temporary powers you get. So you have one chance to play some builds.
Feedback from an idiot trying to force global change on a game so its compatible with YOUR LIFE STYLE. Did you ever stop to think how those changes would effect everyone else? You know those people that want to grind content and actually have something to do in the game after the first 3 days? Because we make the changes you want, the game would be easier then it is now, everyone would be 100% with all content done in 3 days. Why even play?
Again if its not compatible with YOUR TIME. Then thats a YOU PROBLEM and stop trying to force your problems on everyone else.
There are tons of people complaining on the forums right now about how easy it is and you want to make it easier? GTFO with that trash and stop blaming YOUR PROBLEMS on everyone else. Make better life choices, k thanks!..
LOL, dude how does opening up helltides make it worse for anyone else?
This is literally like opening up stash.
If it doesn’t affect you, it will never affect you.
It can always make it better for your other players that have this problem.
If you are going to ask people not to be egocentric / narcisstic, please do the same yourself.
I’ve laid it out multiple times in this thread why it is about design and access to mats.
Please read.
How is having a time gate “harder” in any way shape or form?
You could scale down rewards by half and increase access by 2 and have the same basic resources flowing into the game. With an open end game activity like NM’s(which now are only useful for glyph leveling now).
They are definitely not gaining any good reviews right now. Then people wonder how this game could get rated so bad and blame review bombing.
The rest of your “argumentation” somehow still revolves around liking to get told what to do, what i really can’t comprehend.
How should that be even remotely relevant for the player? You can always decide to not play for yourself… Or maybe you can’t.
Yeah i did. It doesn’t affect anyone and no one could until this point tell me what you benefit from timed content. If the game only has content for three days then that content isn’t getting more if you are not allowed to play. Maybe someone takes vacation days to play the game and he is stuck on waiting for events opposed to playing the actual game? Thus having less progress when he has time opposed to when he could just pick his own time window.
I never said that i have only an hour per day, you are still missing the point. You are blizzards good little boy, willingly. And you call others names.
Btw reported for insult. But why do i expect a mature discussion with immature people that need to get told what to do… Sigh.
LOL sure or we dont try to push a dumbass idea on the global game base of players because of my own personal issues.
The fact is simple. You dont have time to play video games? Dont play video games.
Tell me why is it a bad idea to have video games be on demand services?
Again 1 hour a day nets 90 hours over a season more than enough to get to level 100.
Mats, specifically forgotten souls are farmed in helltides.
Tome gating a core mat for rolling is not a good design.
Gating does nothing for difficulty, it only just slows you down.
If you are worried about it being too fast, just double the cinder requirments and effectively you have kept the steel chests time locked to play time as opposed to just time.
How can you come into a thread arguing about things multiple times when you don’t even know what you are talking about? You are spewing nonsense derailing about time gates when that isn’t even the problem. No one is arguing that they should get things in less time like your posts seem to suggest. They are arguing against the content being gated behind certain times of day.
Maybe know what you are arguing for or against next time?
What if Helltide time slots were on a rotating schedule and next season the time slots just happen to be at a time that doesn’t line up with your play times. How would you feel about that? Fine because you are a stoic forum warrior? Fine because you play so much that it wouldn’t affect you? Or would it then be a you problem?
I should point out I’m not advocating for this. More of a thought experiment, but all these its a you problem or you should schedule better. Well some people can play when they can play and are locked out of features and content because of it. That’s what MMOs are for. I did it for 15 years in WoW then quit for ARPGs because there are no schedules…until ActiBlizz got involved.
That’s not an issue of video games being better… that’s an issue of piracy. If pirates didn’t exist, D3 and D4 wouldn’t have been online only. Thats like blaming KIA or Hyundai for developing new anti theft devices that inconvenience the owners of Chicago, instead of the thieves or a certain political party who fully embraced criminal victimization by decriminalizing many criminal acts and “defunding the police” which just emboldened them to commit more crimes.
To this day, no one has 100% legitimately cracked D3, D4, or WoW. According to an article on… IGN I think, the closest guy has 25-30% of D3 replicated, but he has to remake much of the tables, data, and behaviors himself. Thats taken him YEARS to do it.
This topic is not about only online modus.
At launch the only materials locked behind time gates were the Scattered Prisms from world bosses, and even those you could technically get elsewhere.
Just quit with this stupid argument “you knew what you were paying for”.
Do you even want to play or just have everything given to you? There is D3 which is pretty casual and zoomie
I run to the forums and cry when that happens
Sounds like Bob hit the ‘jackpot’ with essentially barely missing all three of the main world events in the game. How often does this situation even come up that all three end at the same time?
How is playing between 10-11 different than playing from 1-2 DOING THE SAME THING aside from the artificial barriers that Blizzard has created?
Why should there even be a chance for this to be happening?
