For all uniques that aren’t on their loot table, it’s real easy to farm.
Trying to farm Raiment of the Infinite and Esu’s Heirloom or anything else from them? It is a huge pain in the bum, especially if you’re trying to farm a mythic version.
Not only does the item you want not drop all the time, they’re effectively time-gated by how fast you can clear either Infernal Hordes or 3 stupid dungeons. It’s even worse for Bartuc because you’re locked behind RNG whether you can even hit the required aether.
It’s made 10x worse this season by the random stats on uniques and the mythic upgrade.
Perhaps these bosses should have something else on their loot table besides actual items. Material farm, maybe?

Please stop suggesting I use the shortcuts available for every other damn boss in the game. Yes, I can convert trophies, farm Belial, or use Obols. This does not make f arming Astaroth’s items faster as it’s… a shortcut available for every other boss. It doesn’t change the fact that actually farming Astaroth and Bartuc are slow as hell. When you’re out of mats for any of the shortcuts, you’re back to being forced to farm the hard way. It just takes infinitely longer. This wasn’t a problem in prior seasons but is now because you’re far more likely to need more chances at them due to changes to uniques.

Effectively, as in it takes longer because you need to complete Infernal Horde or an Escalation.

You can get trophies from Helltides (which you’d be doing as part of some war plans as a rule). You can use that to farm at the horadric cube for boss-specific uniques. It won’t be mythic quality, which is fine as you can do upgrades to that later through its appropriate venue anyway (as most stuff doesn’t usually drop at that quality even in the locales they are native).
I did that at the start of the endgame segment for Bartuc to get the helm I needed and repeatedly for Zir just to get a copy of the ring that doesn’t seem to want to (mythic) roll as anything other than Wound Drinker regardless of how many times I throw a new copy into the cube.
But, the point is you do have options. Some collections also drop boss trophies. It’s effectively a free loot pinata for bosses you don’t necessarily frequent. That said, Bartuc isn’t really a big issue. You get a crap ton of rep, mercenary experience, and other materials in the process.

You can use Belial keys to choose Astaroth and Bartuc Chest loot.
You can find boss tokens from doing helltides and transfigure them.
But now as nothing is special anymore just add 100 Bartuc & Astaroth dungeon tokens to each reknown chest.

Play? Sure. Feels like being penalized for needed items off Bartuc and Astaroth, though.
In my build, one comes from Bartuc, one from Zir, and one from either praying to the RNG gods on the blacksmith (I must have prayed really, really hard) or some absolutely insane luck on a greater boss lair (that didn’t happen this season due to mythic drop rate bugs). Astaroth is nothing by comparison to the RNG loot gods for one that is a super rare drop (Shattered Vow).
You’re not penalized. You can select an escalation node in your war plans and that gives substantially more progress towards Nightmare dungeons than a nightmare dungeon node. And, frankly, get some Vile Splendor, Obol Reserves, or Horadric Strongrooms in if you’re short on resources. I tend to look at that as a pretty interesting and faster paced run. If I don’t want to touch any of the chests (I usually do), I just run straight to the boss.
What’s the objection here? I see every single item people need has to be farmed somehow. This isn’t even a difficult one.
It’s not difficult, the problem is time. If I need a Starfall (lord save that build), I can just spam the crap out of Beast in Ice. If I need Esu’s? Farming Astaroth is not nearly as convenient. Yes, I can “just get boss trophies”, but you get that for every other boss as well, so that doesn’t really count because it doesn’t make the farm significantly faster.
Free loot that is guaranteed to be a unique on the horadric cube doesn’t make farming easier? In what reality? Belial, set to Astaroth’s loot table, is an easy and fast alternative. Logic suggests you’ve got to farm at least one greater boss lair. Belial has a larger volume of loot as well. You’ve got convenient options if that is your interest. You’re just saying you don’t like your options. That’s a different problem.
Yep, I pretty much blow all my Superior Lair Keys on Belial. Spent a couple on the new one, as well, since you need those to get the mats to “upgrade” to mythic.
Now I’m at zero again and struggling to build back up.
It doesn’t make farming Astaroth any faster than farming any other boss because you can do the exact same thing. It’s just a shortcut while you have the keys. F arming Belial instead worked great when the drops were guaranteed. Now they’re not.
Another solution: Doing some NMDs with the obols affix and gamble for blue and white stuff. Open some reknown chests and craft the unqiues u need
I suggested an Escalation Sigil (since he has to do Astaroth anyway) with Obols Reserve with that in mind. It wasn’t responded to, so I assume it, too, is inconvenient or unliked.

Did both of those. Out of mats. Kept getting Razorplate.
Still, that isn’t a route that is unavailable to any other boss. The act of farming Astaroth and Bartuc are slow as hell. All the other shortcuts are available to all the other bosses.
I’m not playing this game 24/7. I don’t have dozens of every kind of key or mat.
Given that there are no more restrictions on crafted mythics. ALL uniques can be mythic and if you use fragments to do it. its a random drop. (so if you need a bartuc helm, you can use any other unique helm to craft the mythic version randomly)
in otherwords. the loot farm should be ruptures /death toll chambers
