Crafting is inexistent, as tempering and masterworking are a joke
Drops? There’s not even a loot filter in D4
Uniques are only meaningful if exalted
Set items DO NOT EXIST
Levelling takes 3 minutes, story is also nonsense
Endgame dungeons are forgotten, NMDs were once the biggest selling point of D4.
There are no boss mechanics, they are just a big hitbox
Sorry man of all things you chose to bring only combat and graphics stand. Other than that D4 also underdelivers.
Also you completely forgot the size and budget difference between the two, which is the main argument
My list of things I don’t like about Last Epoch was not intended as a one-to-one comparison with things D4 “does right.” It was a list of why I don’t like Last Epoch, full stop. You seem to have skipped my final statement entirely, which is the crux of why I think D4 is better; at least it’s fun to play. Ergo, I think LE is a badly designed, unfun game, regardless of budget.
You have some good points about D4 in your list, I didn’t break it down myself but I agree with most; except set items: not sure what the obsession with those is. Aspects perform the function of D3’s legendary powers and set powers in a far more accessible and flexible way. Set items have no purpose in D4 as we know them. They would have to be reimagined or else they will just further funnel builds into pre-defined, boring metas.
Also, wanting a loot filter in D4? I’m not against it, but I can’t walk 10 feet in last epoch without a dozen items dropping. Items rarely drop in D4 except from chests and bosses/event elites. Completely different world here.
I feel the same way. D4 is much more fun to play. And I could care less about a loot filter. Never used one and dont feel the need to have one. I tried LE again, but the game just isnt for me. I cant stand the theme, the combat still sucks, and I hate the gender lock. Plus when you compare it to D4 and POE2, LE looks and feels cheap by comparison.
