[BUG] [BARB] Selig's Resource Depletes Way Too Fast When Being Hit Compared To Max HP

Hey All!

After playing for a while in the PTR it ALMOST feels as if all of the Barb’s damage reduction stats ( armor/resistances/all dmg reduction/dmg reduction to elites/dmg reduction while fortified) DO NOT get applied before our fury is drained from our resource pool when monsters hit us.

When my resource disappears entirely and I’m down to my hp my hp even though is less is absolutely way tankier.

Same rule applies if we just remove selig and rely on normal defenses.

I’m wondering if this is an actual BUG or if it’s intentional ? But either way there’s a clear difference between the tankyness of 17k hp and 17k max resource with virtually 99% the same damage reductions and defenses.(essentially by just swapping selig just for a legendary amu which doesn’t even have a defensive aspect on it )

Kind Regards,
Athorax

Exactly! Taking damage while selig amulet is equipped doesn’t apply any damage reduction to the resource, only to life. I can have 1000 life and not die, while 1 hit with selig deplet 30k resource. Selig will be usless/very annoying if this mechanic won’t get fixed.

I literally die to everything on Barb with Selig on. With over 22,000 Fury and while generating over 7,500 Fury Per Second. Not to mention my extensive overall Toughness, Armor, Resistance, and various Damage Reductions.

This new version of Selig seems great on paper but it can literally only be viable if all Toughness factors and Damage Reduction are applied first, before draining Resource. Resource has to be treated as a form of HP. Especially on Eternal as we cannot stack Multiple Aspects per item to make additional forms of Fury Generation during and outside of combat.

It honestly feels like a bug - hopefully they fix it if that’s case.

But if not - I’ve figured out a way to circumvent this issue - BARRIERS.

Barrier gets consumed before your resource pool when you have a selig equipped - and barrier considers all your damage reductions. Tested and sorted. And that’s how I stay alive. :stuck_out_tongue:

See what they do - if they change Selig or not..

I’m playing around with the same idea. However, if that’s our avenue then damage to our Fury and damage to our Barriers can’t count as Damage Taken. It needs to be that if you circumvent your HP taking any Damage, that the Unique Ability can trigger and refill your Fury.

Yeah, barriers work for preventing instant death, still hoping for a fix so I don’t HAVE to use ‘em just so I can play the game.
