Take note of this feedback. Sell these classes straight up without an attachment to an expansion. Pump them out every 6 months. Why do I have to wait 2+ years to hear the sound of a shield smashing demon face. I’d rather buy a class than a cosmetic – and currently I have zero affinity to the current classes – so why would i invest in those skins?
Let the value proposition of an expansion be its content, +5-10 level cap, new skills, systems, etc. There is tremendous value in the roll out of a new class, so much it can stand on its own, as a microtransaction.

because they are saving it for next expansion

Try to fathom the nerd rage if the next class is not a paladin type. If the leaks are it’s a whip master or they do a class reveal and it’s a gunsmith.
What they’d best do is distance themselves from the caster-stank of D3 Crusader. Aesthetic is fine, but this class needs to be melee-focused, and have proper auras. And yes, a shield spell that makes it glow or change form. Not too much to ask for.
Otherwise, idc what they call it. Def won’t be “Crusader”, bc besides “Barbarian” & “Necromancer” which have stayed constant, they’ve stuck to D2 class names. (“Rogue” being close enough, as there were Rogue mercs in D2.) “Templar” is fine. “Paladin” is just better marketing, it throws red meat at the D2 dogs like meself.
IMO Spiritborn set around Kurast, heart of the Zakarum faith… and Block Chance being introduced on Spiritborn weapons… is basically an easter egg telling us Pally is coming.

I think this is nonsense tbf. “In his holy name”, a crusading army, and angels vs demons were the selling points of D4 to the dirty masses. If they don’t put a “Zakarum cross” on that shield, it won’t bother me… but it will still be a gd holy knight.
