First online game? Yea best to stay away from any online game if you’re worried about bots. Might I suggest solo player games? Plenty of good games where you’ll never have to worry about bots again.

concern is legit. I dont care about people’s post history. I’m also annoyed about it. Solution is simple; if you cant stop it, make a services channel just like wow. I dont need to see this garbage while playing.

First of all there’s an automated system within D4 that tracks people and flags accounts accordingly. If you have a funny third party program, you trade too much, there’s an exploit you’ve been using that dupes materials, etc. your account will be flagged.
Secondly there are mass ban waves that go out periodically that do ban these people. Now it’s not instant, and this is due to the fact if it was instant, the ones using the bots could possibly tweak their code to not get caught. Makes it much harder to know what set off the system when the ban waves happen sporadically rather then immediately.
So take a deep breath, realize it’s not the end of the world, report them when you see them, and continue to play the game if you so wish.

Just wondering if you know an answer to this: I have noticed a large amount of obvious barbarian bots farming whispers, presumably these are the guys farming gold and items to sell. Are they going to get found out automatically, or do we need to manually report every single one?
Gold needs to be untradable. Then these problems go away. People can still trade items.

I will repeat myself again. Allow trade only between people you played with like D3. This is the most balanced system because it allows friends, clan or community gaming and it will drastically reduce the parallel market and botting biased economy.

if they do that they must increase the drop rates. you can go a month without seeing a 3x GA item and if you do its way more easy to sell it because its not good for your build and buy what you need… players like trading just ban the rmt whales

You like trading, I personaly don’t like it. There is no real data proving that “player like trading”. Most of the community i played with trade only with friends they play with. They are not transforming this feature into a business.
But yeah 3 greater affixes are hard to get because they are supposed to be very rare. Rely on bots and RMT to have one is not a healthy way to acquire them. May be Blizz have to tune up the drop rate or mostly make them unbreakable for tempering, but i personnaly think that unlimited trading is an open gate to the wolves.

how do you tell a bot in D4? there’s hardly any long-term group activities that require frequent grouping. when you see toons running around, it’s just toons running around.
at least in D3 you can spot bots from a mile away.

The solution is simple, Make trade the same as D3. It seemed to work pretty good. Gold would be account bound. Now I’ll wait for that snaping sound.

All those sites promoting FOMO sales to tryhards are SUPER gonna ruin my experience… In a single player game with a couple multiplayer aspects tossed in, lol. May as well be selling save files for Final Fantasy 7, since I’m sure you’d also cry about that.
This is like people cheating in Monster Hunter; It may be “online”, but it’s not competitive, and it only hurts the type of people who type “FIRST!” in Youtube vids.

Why is trading a issues for anyone this is a PVE game? only no lifers and bots will be on top of leader board. Most will never care other then to see what build top players are using. I dont understand why so many cry for nerfs or limit how others play. Stop be Anti fun i love finding a item my friends looking for when there not on and being able to surprise them with it when they get on.
