Nobody said they were equal. We are talking about how simple in game systems are. Diablo 4 wasn’t dumbed down because it was made for consoles. It was dumbed down because Blizzard is greedy. Why can I go play Path of Exile on a console right now huh? Stop looking for excuses, the problem is Blizzard.
Joke of the century?
More in what? How many different marketplaces can you list on your console? And … Each console has only a built-in store and buying from a third party is practically impossible, and most prices are dictated by the company producing the console.
By the way, the concept of AAA developer came from consoles. With their overly biased fan groups. And exclusives. Let me remind you that 90% of PC exclusives were due to the fact that no one could just make the game work on the console.
So, is there any harm from consoles for the market? Certainly there is. Whether there is a benefit - it is impossible to deny. But in our situation, part of the problems really comes from the consoles. Reviewing and approving patches on consoles is very slow and creates a lot of delays.
On the other hand, Blizzard is not even in a hurry to fix the memory leak on the PC. Because of what (judging by the forums) at least 2 computers and 3-4 video cards failed.
Blizzard could separate the PC client from the console and make some changes. Although then there will be a small gap between the base of console players and PCs.
