Blizz, please add weaker AI Bots to Dark Citadel so we can play it or have a solo window like helltide, because no one is

Finding party member is not a problem, as you see, other contents like Infernal Hordes and Boss lairs are easy to find members by just listing a party.

The problem of DC (Dark Citadel) is that it’s too complicated, not worth messing your mood with never-explained mechanics.

Go there, click this, hit enemies, pick this up and take to that. put in there, hit the boss, wait for the warp, get in the warp, hit enemies, pick something, exit the warp, put this in that, repeat 3 times. If one member doesn’t understand each step - everyone dies. What the heck this all for?

The most frustration is when the boss opens a portal, party members must split: Some go to the warp while some remain in the room. If everyone goes to the warp, they will be trapped in there and wait to die.

Should I run through all this hectic again and again just for cosmetics? Nope! Just once to complete the quest and that’s all.

I don’t feel that getting gear solo is bad in an ARPG tbh. It is expected of you to be able to get that gear on your own. Are you allowed to trade with people for said items? Yeah, but so many items have been duped, so hard to know what you are getting for sure. But…if you are yet another proponent of RMT, please just see yourself out :grimacing:

It is an online co-op ARPG that has a live service… You literally aren’t running around and greeting everyone on one or even several large servers–there are literally server shards in this game that only hold 12 people per shard. MMOs have servers capable of holding many more people than that…the devs have stated over and over that it’s online co-op, not an MMO.

Now, if you were to say that D4 is like an MMO, then yes–I’d be inclined to agree. Here’s the literal definition of a raid, since you still seem to think that a raid is one small group of four people in an instanced dungeon…

a raid is a type of mission in [Massively multiplayer online role-playing games] where a much larger number than usual of people specifically gather in an attempt to defeat either: (a) another number of people at [player-vs-player] (PVP), (b) a series of computer-controlled enemies (non-player characters; NPCs) in a [player-vs-environment] (PvE) or (c) [a very powerful boss] (superboss). This type of objective usually occurs within an [instance dungeon], a separate server instance from the other players in the game. A raid may be highly planned and coordinated or arise nearly spontaneously through word of mouth communications in- and out-of game.

I would not consider 2-4 people a “large group”. Is it larger than just a single person? Yes, but it isn’t several groups of those 2-4 players is my point.

Edit: I apologize if my definition of a raid felt like it was insulting your intelligence somehow–I could see how that would be a thing tbh. Just posted it to provide some clarification.

Double-decker Edit: Here’s the conversation with someone I had in a post I created. Just in case you are wanting some sort of verification about server shards and their capacity being a thing:

I just want a loyal waifu.

I dont like this half baked mercs that are subhuman ugly

Party finder works fine for me but some regions may be less populated and therefore have less parties available, especially during off-peak times. Dark Citadel requiring co-op is what makes it fun, even if it’s tuned too easy and SB basically negates/skips all the mechanics lol.

But if anyone wants to group up there are communities. Or just let me know by replying to me here, and I will run Dark Citadel with you.

Thank you for your very kind post regarding offering to help people…but I have to respectfully disagree that Dark Citadel requiring co-op is what makes it fun…is working in a group better than being solo? Yes, but at least within the confines of a party, to my knowledge–people can literally be carried through things like Pit and now Dark Citadel–without doing much to contribute themselves. Not saying everyone is like this, though–just that it’s much harder to gauge an individual’s contribution within the group in this game. Is it fun to tackle things in a party where everyone contributes? Yes, but I’m not sure that is 100% the case every single time.

But I digress–thanks for offering to run people through DC. You are a literal beacon of hope in this grimdark world :blue_heart:

Just to chime in here, at the very least you will need two capable people. There are mechanics that need to be done to be able to defeat the bosses. If you only have one person trying to carry 1 to 3 people it’s not happening.

Now that’s not to say you can’t walk people through the mechanics. I’ve done this multiple times with people from the forums, on all difficulties (T1 to 4). As long as people are decently geared and can stay alive (for the most part), you shouldn’t have an issue.

Sorry Iggi…guess I let my ignorance get the better of me. My apologies. I forgot about the mechanics tbh. I have glanced at the Challenges related to DC but promptly forgot. But I have heard of Pit carries. Now that I know there are mechanics in DC…the two literally aren’t the same thing.

Anyway…I am up far too early…

Insomnia had me up at 12:30 am, unable to go back to sleep. It’s now 2 mins after 7 am. I really should try sleeping again :sleepy:

Well, these problems were not unexpected. However, I am pessimistic about the future of this game for this kind of issue/content together with many other problems already…

Blizzard not going to add this AI bot, as they worry the bot think the OP is a weaker companion and start sh1t talking to him via in game chat :joy:.

This already happened to the Google Gemini bots, which was shutdown for telling the weak student “Please Die” when he seek for help.

This is where you lost me. The cosmetics they’ve put in the citadel are awful. Literally any cash shop set is better.

If they put cool cosmetics in the citadel people would melt down in droves.

I am 100% pro citadel with mercenaries or npcs.
Don’t let forced groups come to our beloved franchise!

And this is where you lost me. I’ve given Blizz plenty of money, and a lot of time I won’t get back. Free is Free and they’re not bad for Free cosmetics, unlike the cool (sarcasm) pirate garb they’ve been so generous with this battle pass.

Again the point is people have paid for a game, and elements of that game (cosmetics) cannot be had without finding people to play with, and that number is very small to non existent without having to go out and hunt for help. Hence why we just need AI or solo so we can get what we want. What you think is cool and what I think is cool is irrelevant.

If the content can’t be soloed, I’ll never do it. Which sucks. I’d like to see all the content.
