Same here, RX6400. Been happening since game launch but this season its unbearably bad.
HOLY MOLY, you are a god, I was frustrated with this issue, but using BES -10% fixed the issue and increased performance during/after load screens.
Using BES do the trick…but…issue still happens but more often, but remains, so…this is a workarround but not fix the real issue.
Chiming in to also say that BES at -10% does seem to resolve the issue. As long as I have it running, no more issues. But I frequently forget to enable it when I start D4. Kudos to the person that came up with the idea! But hoping Bliz can fix this without the use of a 3rd party tool. Nice to have a work around but a multibillion dollar company should be able to resolve this without the need for 3rd party tools that the community found on their own.

It seems to be mostly an internet issue combined with a memory leak issue, port forwarding, direct connecting to ethernet, and adding BES -10% all in combination has cured my black screen by 95%, now when I get black screens rarely it sends be back to character select instead of crashing the whole game.

Just figured I’d mention that I have also been having this same exact issue since Season 7.

Dual Monitor setup and the issue seems to happen regardless of which screen I actively have the cursor on.
Lowering global graphics settings to Medium did increase overall performance but I’m still getting the black screen with UI at least around 30-40% of the time when I teleport.
AMD SmartAccess Memory is disabled.
I haven’t tried BES, deleting the LocalPrefs file or disabling MPO yet but I will and report back on whether it’s helped any. I really appreciate all of the suggestions in this thread.

Just started playing D4 again after couple of months including a fresh installation. Never had this problem before. One month ago I switched from a Nvidia GPU to an AMD one (9070XT).
Issue occured multiple times with no graphics loaded except the HUD. ESC menu works and I can close the game.
Also when teleporting somewhere, the whole computer freezes . I have Twitch on my second monitor. It also the stream and even the audio stops.
One time I had to restart the computer because nothing was working anymore.
No problems with any other games including other Blizzard Games (WoW, Hearthstone).
None of the solutions above helped.
BES at 10% on the D4 process
Had this issue, where the entire game would black out except for the GUI bottom menu and cursor. This happened seemingly at random every time I would fast travel, I’d estimate 1 out of 3 ports. I did change my textures from low to mid and now my game has stopped the TC issue. Not sure if its related to low res. texture packs messing with AMD. Not sure if that’s the cause, just sharing info. I also notice if I’m in game and attempt to change my graphical settings the game will chug hard, sometimes completely crashing the game and I’ve also had sound completely fall off when this happens. Reboot fixes it and my graphical changes have been saved after crash it seems. So yay, at least I don’t have to repeat graphics changes and possibly crash my system again. Looking at the history of this issue I gotta ask, is this considered a feature at this point? Seems like this issue has been going on for awhile now.

Clean install of drivers does not fix it, it’s been escalated should see a fix asap

I’m playing for 2 hours now, and this happened to me 5 times already man, i tried everything except BES
Report the bug to AMD in order to get a bug report next time D4 goes to black screen with UI intact… click R then click on anything cosmetic till crash poof bug report, Adrenalin software bug report (little bug top right) “chip set” “diablo IV.exe” fill everything out Add attachment open blizz app click the gear beside play “show in explorer” “diablo IV” “blizzard error” “reported bugs” double click the lowest “Fenrisdebug”.
OMG I cannot believe it! I’ve had this bug for at least 1 year now, since VOH definitely every 30 mins.
Now using BES to limit -10 the Diablo process it stopped! I’ve been playing for 3 days teleporting nonstop just to try to trigger it and I can’t!
I have no idea what is happening or why this would be working but it does!
There is now a wowhead article talking about this issue.
