Big Barb nerfs for s5

I disagree heavily with this unless the cost goes down significantly. Waaaaay too long to farm the mats for 32! Especially with their new focus on uniques and wanting 2-4 on each build.

During the last campfire stream, they said something about how they are retooling the affixes on almost every unique in the game, because they know as it stands right now they just can’t compete with Tempering, especially on weapons. Theses changes just won’t be on this PTR, for some reason.

Yes I would definitely like to get to a point where it doesn’t feel bad to have to use a unique compared to something else that you can temper. I don’t like feeling like I’m making a tradeoff.

A higher masterwork limit as Boltbane suggests, e.g. a 24/24 possibility, while playing around with decreased power increments and/or higher mat requirements would give an AoZ style continued sense of progression while not allowing anything to get too crazy power inflation wise. It would actually be similar with D2 leveling while power progression is still possible but starts slowing way down near the end.

Mat cost can be adjusted. Though I highly suspect blizzard will screw this up somehow either way. The point being is some uniques have undesirable affixes while others are more tolerable. Having the predominate affix gain very high roll should offset the other affixes.

Unique affixes should inherently roll much higher. Mat costs and acquisition needs to be revisited regardless.

I hope their unique changes are substantial. Lucky Hit heal and resource affixes are a waste, among others.

Uniques should, additionally, have a limited pool of tempers that can’t brick the item and compliments the build/playstyle.

hmmm… we’ll see. I think I master worked 4 pieces of gear to 10 and the rest was around 6 and with that I did Pit 101, Lilith, tormented everything and I was done with the season!

But I suppose the players that want to do Pit 200 for the sake of the accomplishment might like/need the extra masterworking heh heh.

Welp. One week into Season 5, and Sorcs are wet farting all over content like it’s nothing, meanwhile Barbs are breaking their fingers and their mice/keyboards just to ATTEMPT to do 1/100th of the damage of an AFK Sorcerer.

Fun times /sarcasm

OMG I can not even get through a 61 tier pit to get the nitheriorn to do the darn season ending. I do not have the word to describe how bad this season is. Oh sure if I ride the back of a magic user or necro I can get there but what’s the point?

You must have really terrible gear and/or a bad build. Pit 61 was not a challenge in S5 by any means.

Psst. check the guy’s post history.

The nerfs were more serious than anticipated.

Mid-season patch needs to come 2 weeks early and save Barb.

i always make a death blow build every season but this one has been brutal lol

i am having fun with all the uniques actually being usable though

They would simply have to undo the key passive nerfs and bring them back to the state before the s5 patch. Then we would have a good balancing between all classes now.

But i think Blizzard won’t do it that way, because then they think they would have to admit a major mistake.

i’d be thrilled about that

i’m feeling about 40% dmg shy

They need to fix a few other things ontop of reverting the keystones.

Man I just tried T8 infernal hordes for the first time with my WW Barbarian, 4 mythics all master worked. It was painful. Probably took 7-8 mins to kill the bosses. The rest of it took ages too it felt like. At least I was basically unkillable but ouch, we need our power back. Barb is pathetic right now.

Yep.

I have resorted to farming gold/boss mats and trade for carries in T7/T8.

Lucky blizz barb players arent toxic and loud.

We dont go around demanding to nerf others.
I’ve seen a lesser known youtuber happy barb is down and wants it kept down.
