Hi, let’s keep this short and simple.
Our eyes are getting strained from having to look down at the action bar/hp/mana
every other second. I know the general idea of minimalist UI was to let players take in the game and environment, but at endgame, people stop looking at the graphics during combat and just jump back and forth between the character and UI at the bottom.
Take WoW as a great example, there is a reason why all serious players have their UI in the middle of the screen.
Please add this option to toggle a centered simple UI for those who want it.
This literally takes a day to design and discuss and a few hours to implement.
(I’m a system architect/dev).
Since I can’t attach images i’ll describe it:
HP + shield bar above/under player.
Mana bar above/under player.
4 main skills as 4 dots above/under the bars. (or all 6, could be option for that as well)
When skill is on CD make the dot less visible/faded.
when skill is available make them clear.
Doesn’t have to be anything complex or cluttered.
Doesn’t have to show cd duration, just if the ability is available or not.
Should be super simple, clean and ofc optional and toggled OFF by default.

That will not happen because Consoles
D4bad
Since it’s an optional setting. It doesn’t have to be on consoles.
And technically, this shouldn’t be a problem for consoles either.
The code and logic for the hp calculations are already in place.
Just need to add new UI elements and bind the same data values for HP/Mana/skills onto the new elements.
Performance wise, this shouldn’t affect anything.
IF the clutter is a problem when playing couch co-op. Then disable the feature only when multiple players are playing on same screen.
Would also assume the couch co-op is a very very tiny minority of the full player base.
I think if i remember right they have this in wow. And in D3 I can see numbers too like monster hit points and such. I could see them implementing this if the demand is there,
You are right, WoW without addons even implemented this now ootb.
HP + Resource under character and important class mechanic points. Like holy power for paladins, combo points for rogues/druids, arcane power etc.
Looking down at the bottom of the screen breaks immersion, if their goal was for players to be immersed, the current state has the opposite effect.
Yep, Well i agree with you on this. I’m not a fan of almost dying in a fight because i forgot to look down haha.
