I recently found an old backup Outlook PST file from my previous system, but when I tried to open it in Microsoft Outlook, it seemed to be locked or password-protected. Unfortunately, I do not remember setting any password for it, and now I am unable to access the emails stored inside the file. This PST file contains some important old emails and attachments that I really need to recover. Has anyone faced a similar situation with an old PST backup file? What is the best way to unlock or access a password-protected PST file without damaging the data?
I want to share my experience here because I recently had a lot of trouble opening an old Outlook PST file. It was a backup PST file containing many of my important emails & attachments, but the problem was that it was password protected, & I couldn’t remember it.
Initially, I tried several manual methods, such as importing Outlook & using the Inbox Repair Tool, but they didn’t solve my problem. Then, while searching the internet, I came across the GainTools PST Password Recovery.
I tried its trial version first & found it quite easy. The software’s interface is simple, & you can remove the password by adding a PST file. The good thing is that it doesn’t change or delete the data in the PST file.
In my case, the tool unlocked the PST file password in just a few minutes, & I was able to access my entire Outlook file easily. All my emails, contacts, & attachments were safe.
If anyone is experiencing problems with a forgotten Outlook PST password, this tool is worth a try. This solution was very helpful for me.
You guys and your email topics are so fantastic.
