Been Waiting for the Expansion to Seriously Play (Expansion Details + Stereoscopic 3D Compatibility)

Any third party program that alters the game has the potential to get you banned. So use at your own risk.

Back to the main topic though. This is what the expansion offers.

  • 2 new classes - warlock and paladin
  • Horadric cube - used for crafting purposes
  • Talisman system - Charms and seals, including Set Charms, generic as well as class specific ones
  • War plans $ Activity Trees - Set of predetermined endgame activities that give you rewards + experience toward the activity tree to alter endgame activities in some fashion
  • New campaign, storyline, zone, etc.
  • Fishing
  • Echoing Hatred - new endgame content that requires a rare key, it’s an endless wave of enemies that continue to fill the arena. If you fail to kill them in time, or you die, it’s over and you get rewards based on how far you’ve gone.
  • 1 Additional passive node per skill in your skill tree to alter your skills

Now aside from that there have been base game changes added:

  • Total revamp of the skill tree which you can see now.
  • Some QoL improvements across the board, lair boss keys more streamlined, boss trophies, etc.
  • Uniques now now roll with 2 guaranteed affixes and two random, you can reroll any 1 affix you want on a unique item at the occultist using enchanting.
  • Mythic Quality uniques introduced this season, maxed affix rolls, along with a maxed Aspect Power that also grants a 30% bonus to the aspect power itself

Too many things to list but if you’re interested: ℹ ggiNotes - Unofficial Patch Notes - LoH 3.0 Update

They didn’t give us official patch notes when the expansion launched mind you.

As for the game itself, still a buggy mess with outlier builds controlling the meta every season. It’ll be a constant ongoing issue no doubt. The game is more focused on the skill tree from 1-70 now and less on legendaries dropping from the sky, but it’s still a pretty fast leveling process.

Itemization has been changed again. There is more focus on crafting with the cube. I would say it’s about a 30/70% ratio between drops/crafting to be fair. That depends on how lucky your RNG is and how much time you want to spend on your gear though.

Overall more of the same, but with added depth added to the endgame activities via the activity tree through the war plans. Currently enjoying it myself, however due to ongoing issues and other questionable choices I would give it a rating of 7 out of 10. I think this is the best version of the game to date, but still needs improvements in several areas.
