Congratulations on being one of the most moronic posters on the forum.
Builds at lvl9? Have you even played the beta? Comment when you know what you are talking about.
Barb is so far from a dumpster fire it hurts to see people not build correctly.
Congrats on being an ignorant douche that most people are already disagreeing with. So edgy and cool bro.
Loving my Barb, full legendaries at 25, leap w/quake, Ground Stomp w/quake, warcry, call of the ancients, frenzy, HotA.
I just finished Act 1 tonight on the barb. 3/4 of my gear are legendaries, but they are all suited to my build. I killed the final boss in maybe a minute, never got below half health, and used exactly 2 health potions and no buff elixirs. Lunging Strike, Whirlwind (not used in this fight) Leap, Death Blow, Wrath of the Berserker, and War Cry were on my skill bar. I believe this is a different build that the âone OP buildâ you referred to.
Was the barb slow and somewhat boring for the first hour or so until you get some skills earned and start having a few different attacks to use? Sure. At level 10 or so, it ramps up pretty quickly and by 15, I was rolling over everything, including bosses.
So Kor Dragan seems to be a decent measure since most of the content there stays the same level.
Ran through that place with a level 17 Barbarian and was able to defeat it just fine. The damage I can do with a few different builds can get crazy. With defense I can stack thorns and things basically melted past the boss. The boss was not too easy with my 25 sorc at the time, though I got better gear now.
I think a lot of what we are seeing is with the correct builds set. Some things are at a good spot, but most everything needs to be brought up a bit, but that could change around max level with all of passives and paragon. But the Barbarian does just fineâŚsorc is a bit stuck to hydra/ice blades. All of their other skills are so very weak its rare we even cast them.
I agree with you, but this just seems to be the direction the game has been built. Legendaries are probably not the right thing to call them, theyâre more like item based skill runes from d3. Itâs assumed you will have full legendaries at all times because you unlock effects to attach to your rares from every dungeon.
Also calling any class weak or strong at level 25 with the limited scope of legendary affixes and the lack of uniques in the game seem foolhardy at best. Also also, Barb w/ Basic Attack speed affix and upheavel passive does big dam with great fury generation. Thereâs plenty of viable builds out there.
Yeah bro, millions of flies canât be wrong.
Sounds like you didnt figure out how to play the class. Take some time and youll get there. Its amazing when you do!
Problem is that Barb does take some thought to get working and knowledge of certain things, also theyâre missing their level 15 class feature so that doesnât help perception.
But even then, acknowledging that they do ridiculous damage, the game is not melee friendly and exacerbates peoplesâ negative experiences - puddles, cc etc.
Depends on what youâre looking for. I found Barbarian to be the most fun class. I play for fun, and eventhough I want an effective build, I donât have to minmax and study build guides. Even so the barb was effective if you took the time to understand fortify and overpower.
If you didnât then you have a bad opinion and you shouldnt be making threads.
The game is too easy, I want it way harder. And stuff Asmongoldâs opinion that he doesnt like enemies running away. This is BRILLIANT by Blizzard, give us more varied combat AI, thanks
I disagree completely. I did find Fury and bash and flay to be useless early game. I think whirlwind is another skill thatâs just not good early game. Thatâs really all weâre testing here is whatâs a good starter build, and there are a few for Barb, mainly lunging strike and Rend or Upheaval. I also felt very tanky with a little investment in a few defensive skills and ccâs.
Late game is gonna allow for a lot more variety, maybe they could buff bash to be 1/2 stuns instead of 1/4, but fury gets bonuses later in the tree, and needs stacking synergies like attack speed and berserking with other modifiers to make it viable. Itâs certainly not a dumpster fire. My barb did more DPS and tanked more damage than the other 2 and I did a lot of testing, and all 3 strongholds on him.
Nah. I ignored 99% of all damage in game and was consistently hitting crits for 10k+ at level 25. Your Barb may have been a dumpster fire, but there were many who were the exact opposite. All my party members, including a sorc, were jealous of how tanky my Barb was while still doing the best damage in the group.
Only way I was able to efficiently kill stuff with the Barb is by not killing anything at all. 250 thorns bleed build. Everything that attacked me just died.
Was quite boring tbh. Melee needs a re-work.
The other bad part about Melee is that all of the bosses have some type of debuff they lay around them. So you gotta stand in it if you want to attack them.
well, let me give you my experience. i made a sorc to 25, okish. then i made a rogue to 25. so much more OP compared to sorc, i did not play sorc anymore.
then i made a barb to only lvl 11, it was the easiest start out of the 3 characters. i think it`s all build and skills
Ironically thatâs exactly the opposite of what RPGs used to be. The Linear Warrior who gets better at hitting things/getting hit vs The Quadratic Wizard who becomes a deity (but early could be killed by a housecat).
Barbarian had the two easiest and most OP builds in the beta, youâre smoking crack. The only class thatâs easier is if youâre playing Sorc with an ultra-ultra-ultrawide resolution because you can cast your spells from one corner of the dungeon to the other.
i never had it so easy, as using frenzy and upheaval. just 1 shot any pack of trash, 2 shot the elites.
