How in the world can we kill a world boss that’s lvl 25+ and we’re capped at 20? We even had only about 10 people show up, and all of us 1 shotted.
I don’t mind working for my rewards. (No need to hold my hand.) I wonder if others had this same issue? I was playing on a broken Necro. (That may be half my problem.)
I believe D4 has the potential to be a great Diablo game. But, I hope they fix some of these problems people are having with their characters.
UPDATE: I just got it. I now have defeated him 2 times. Better make that 3 now. Woot! I got a killer 2h sword, amulet, and on my second time, I got a killer shield. I dropped my Tier down to 1. We did it with almost 2 mins to spare. So, it is doable. I was able to spawn skeletons in the fight. (Thank you, Jesus!)
Also, use dodge and try to get under him directly.

Short answer is: You can’t.
This weekend was an absolute s*&t show.
15+ hours playing at lvl 20, I didn’t so much as sniff a legendary or unique.
15 minute battle with Ashava with a team of 12 lvl 20s, and we barely managed to get the boss below 75%.
I sent out messages to all of my friends and clan mates who are playing Diabl0 4 this weekend, of the 23 responses, NOT A SINGLE PERSON was able to kill Ashava, NOT ONE.
Blizzard has COMNPLETELY lost the plot on this one. GROSSLY excessive nerfs to Necros and Rogues, and GROSSLY decreased drops, with GROSSLY overbuffed world boss is NOT fun, it’s absolute CRAP.
This weekend is SO bad, that I am extremely tempted to request a refund of my pre purchase.
After 20 years, if Blizzard can’t figure out how to balance BASIC game metrics, I really don’t know if I want to stick around and watch them flounder.
Oh, and moving the “authenticator” to the mobile battlenet app, right before the server slam , so it takes HOURS to try to get the damn authenticator to work so you can post on the forums? UNBELIEVABLY IDIOTIC.
Way to go Blizzard, short of the servers actually catching fire and killing real people in an incendiary blaze, you couldn’t have screwed this weekend up anymore.

My achievement says your wrong. Not to mention the countless kills that happened on stream. I’m not saying its easy, but it is most certainly doable. Most Deaths I witnessed were people just not understanding how to move 3 feet to the left/right to avoid easily avoidable attacks.

Your achievement doesn’t matter.
This is supposed to be a server slam, which needed people playing, and the ashava kill was the main reason 9 out of 10 people went into it.
At the current state, it’s impossible to the average player kill ashava. People have reasons to complain.

Learn the mechanics
If people die 100 times of course you’re not going to kill him. I got one shot in the last beta to mechanics as well. Don’t get hit

well i had it on 30% on tier 2. and my groups was mostly ranged that died every swing. so basicly 3 ppls did all the damage. its definitely possible, you just need to know how to avoid the swing.

Thats what I am going to go for next. I did it on WT1 first just to be sure I got event credit. Once again, I never said it was easy. Just doable. I do have several friends who did it on Wt2 tho where they just barely beat the timer. A lot of it does come down to rng on who you are matched with and how many low levels you get matched in with.
The boss is clearly higher level than us, why people are handicapping themselves further and then complaining about it is beyond me.

So don’t do it on W2. I started on W2 and saw instantly we were not doing enough damage. Dropped to W1 and the with the group I ended up with we were able to do it.
That being said I think it’s gonna upset a lot of people having this limited time collectable be locked behind a boss that will only spawn a handful of times. Especially when to some degree you are at the mercy of whether the players you end up with know how to fight this boss.

well, if blizzard feels generous, and they usual are, you might get it anyways, when they see that more then 50% didnt got it. But dont quote me on that

This. You can increase your chances of success by making your own groups. With randoms you get random results.

Stack some poison resist, make the poison resist or IAS potion, rez the fallen, and focus on mechanics and uptime. You don’t need to be legendaried out to down the boss but the timer will be TIGHT. My shard of randoms downed it as the boss was heading back to hibernate.
Our group was able to kill the world with everyone alive to get the credit with just 20 secs left on the clock. It was close but doable. Besides like 4 of us had okay gear and the rest had legendaries and rares. The group that I was in understood the boss pattern so there weren’t many deaths for what I saw.
Did it one WT1 with 10 people. Progress gets wiped. The option is there to make it doable. Doing a world boss 5 levels above me without a perfect gear set sounded near impossible to me.
I had 4 not great lengdaries and all gear upgraded to tier 3. I knew how much time I put in to get that set and didn’t expect the people I was with to have done that much or be that lucky so I switched to WT1 because it made sense…and that was absolutely doable. Popped potion and slotted gems for dot and poison protection.
I had a lot of fun grinding for it and still felt accomplished afterward. Don’t let only playing at max difficulty get in your way, knowing it is a group effort and a pretty demanding task for everyone to be perfectly geared just a few hours in.

and a tip for all the necros out there, respecc to a build w/o minions they completely useless in this fight.
get bloodmist for the swipes, if you cant make it under her in time when the sweep hits, and you are safe. Its pretty easy with bloodmist. and a good single target builder/spender rotation. blight/sever, bloodlance or bonespear are all good options.
Sorc players can use fire shield.
They expect that we stay all the weekend in front of this beta sh*t show to be lucky enough to join the “good” istance to kill ashava.
I’m sorry but it won’t be me. I’ll try tomorrow maybe other 2 times and that’s it. I won’t min-max again a lvl20 beta char that is going to be tossed in the bin the day after.
No sense to be the only one to use elixir and stuff in random istances in order to obtain a limited cosmetic. After 3 betas I feel I earned that cosmetic even w/o going lvl 20 with random 1st timers to kill ashava, again, and again, and again D:

Just go to tier 1 and you will be able to get the completion.
Tier 2 with randoms is not a good idea, you are 5 levels below a world boss. So you have a boost on hp pool and dmg from that boss stacking against you. IF you get into a group your chances might improve.
Imagine showing up for every world boss fight and never getting a kill during this event.
