So mine can’t even run through trash mobs in a reasonable time anymore on 101 pits, rendering it near useless. Again, who ok’d such a huge nerf to damage to close AND bash cleave?
For reference, my main weapon lost over 100% damage to close and 210% bash cleave damage…and that’s on just ONE of FOUR weapons, and (up to) THREE pieces of jewelry affected.
Since this will be completely ignored by blizzard, per usual, does anyone have any plans for their paperweight bash barb on eternal (besides “dont play eternal go cry about it”)? Anything relatively non-time consuming to convert them to or they just destined for deletion?
edited because i actually dont have damage to close on jewelry currently but im sure some do

Each season is going to see a bunch of changes to keep the meta changing. If you are lucky you will pick the right class/build for the season.
Eternal is screwed since there is nothing ‘eternal’ about changing your build every 4’ months.
Oh well, glad I decided on finally sticking with a bleed build before hand this season.
Wait until you find the Shard of Verathiel and it will triple your damage.
Add some updated Mythic Uniques, Grandfather, Harlequin Crest and Starless Skies.
Replace your Close Damage gear with Crit Damage.
The Mythic Uniques synergize very well with the new sword and Barbarians can easily generate enough resources to offset the 25 Fury cost.
Bash is literally still an S tier build, it just has different gear requirements now.

This. Just update your build as he pointed out and you’ll be fine. It’s annoying but not hopeless.
I took my bash barb to tormented duriel with my s4 gear, took a bit longer but still A tier without any updates.
Go direct bash. Bleed is dead.

Can you kill a Tormented Boss ? (if you can then it’s ok-ish overall), if you can’t then they probably overnerfed
Name a Barb build that can clear pit 101+ that isn’t an “op meta build”
Hota, frenzy, leap quake, deathblow, kick… and others I’m sure. None of those are meta, all of those can clear pit 101 if put together properly. They won’t push much higher than about 110, maybe 120

So literally, in order to be effective, you have to have 3-4 Unique Items and 2-3 Uber Unique items, GAIIIs and Masterworked gear lol.
Saying it “takes different gear” translates to it takes BiS gear to perform close to the same as it did before early into the Season just with Bash Cleave Tempers and Damage to Close.

That’s interesting, I’m waiting on PoE2 cause Blizz is trivializing so much of the game with too much power creep and not enough nerfs.

- Rupture with Third Blade in S5
- Upheaval WA in S5
- HoTA perma Overpower in S5
- Rend with Ravenous Brawling in S5
- Lunging Strike with Soulbrand/Temerity/Paingorgers in S5
Plenty of stuff will be able to clear but pushing 130+ not so much.

It has happened to other classes and builds. I am surprised OPs sympathy is only for his build. I could cry as well about my other builds, but that’s the reality.
I dont get the design philosophy of blizzard…
As a casual player, i spent hours and hours to get that bash barb build working on eternal realm, to temper all the items with this **** randomized system…
Yesterday i was able to finish lvl99 pit in nearly 3min (S4), today i cant even finish the pit lvl99, as even after 5min of end boss fight, i only get 1/4 of his life down…
Completely useless now. All the time that i spent to create this build was a waste of time 
I mean, honestly, is that your understanding of creating long-term motivation ?

You just need to update to the new Ubers, I had a bunch of sparks in Eternal, could do it right away. Put GF on your Bash Barb, GG.

Well, it happened to my S2 Ball sorc but I understand that one and why that happened. This one in particular is bothersome because it’s not like this bash barb was the most OP build or even OP class for that matter, just the most obvious on paper for the staff to say “look we’re balancing”, up top. Like, I could understand -some- nerf, but it’s the biggest % hit I’ve seen so far.
edit: thanks for the relevant input though for those who chimed in. The rest that say ignore eternal, ram a pineapple in it. Respectfully of course.
