Spotted the League of Angels power credit card swiper. . .
You DEMON!!! HAVEN’T WE HAD TO ENDURE ENOUGH??
I think most players complain that their builds are not overpowered (OP), preventing them from playing at a high level. But the current major complaint is that they cannot play at all due to crashes. However, ARPGs are not dead; major titles are incoming and the genre can always be improved. Ultimately, it just needs to be a 3D isometric game with action and roleplaying; other aspects are open to creative designers.
IF crashes are being caued by Spiritborn evade they have to nerf it.
I could write a lot about everything wrong with the way companies remove RP from RPGs…
but I’ll be brief.
before, a bad build of D2 or Titan Quest would cause 20k and an OP build would cause 50k. Today, the best build causes 1bi with 70h of farming, 15 combo buttons, while the P2W class from the expansion presses the space bar and causes 1 TRILLIONS of area damage while being immune to evade all damage…
I hope you understood.
The evade build doesnt do that kind of damage I know about yet but if it does the servers will all die. Its the quill build doing bazingillions.
Didn’t the evade build hit streamers like on the third day?
Game was crashing well before that. I don’t think that is what is causing the crashes. I’ve had them myself were I got booted but I’ve also had ones where it made my whole computer restart. Mind you that has only happened twice thankfully.
I didn’t kill it, you didn’t kill it. Blizz killed it by making bad games.
There are definitely other crash issues but SB might be main root of it. WE just dont know that yet but we do know the crash issue is big. Real big. Got me too. I was perfectly fine S0-5. So its definitely something in S6. My $ is on SB evade.
Are… are you new to D4? There have been many many broken builds. Last season Lightning Spear and Landslide where terrific, in season 3 I think it was HOTA Barb and pulverise druid were great, in early D4 twisting blades was great… each season there are always OP builds and the game is good for it. This season its Quill shot… then massive massive gap… its such a large outlier.
No what kills ARPGs is nerfs. If blizzard nerf quillshot instead of buffing other classes thats what kills this season. If Druid, Barb, Rogue and Sorc (I don’t play necro) all get builds buffed to the quillshot level, I think this seasons has legs. They do need to patch in some achievements and things to chase though (similar to 50 undercity runs), the building blocks are all there cant wait to see how they assemble them going forward.
This is literally how I wanted to play S6, the gorilla build… problem is its trash…Would love to play a payback spam build build using basic attacks to proc mega paybacks… again its trash.
I think when one build/class is good at everything it shrinks the game. Each build and spec should have a niche. e.g speedfarming, bossing, clearing, turret style sustained dps, screen clearing, splash damage, grouping things up.
D3 had a really really cool 4 player meta for a while where support classes would play along DPS classes. so some MMOish aspects should be embraced more in D4 IMO (maybe citadel as it expands). There is nothing really to test your SB character on just yet and other classes cannot compete at that level.
I dont really think the game is dying, I am having a blast. I really REALLY want a reason to level and play other classes though. Cosmetics, achievements, class specific progression. Citadel has really pushed the genre forward IMO… the breadth of content in the game has been done really really well - infernal horde, undercity, pitt, citadel, bosses - the only thing out of place right now is nightware dungeons, I dont think they are all that fun need some kind of tweak there) - its just more fun to do infernal hordes (but even IH need better boons - stacking hellbourne gets old).
I love how people espousing to love ARPGS (OP) also want nothing to do with ARPGs.
OP wants to walk through all content regardless of difficulty by holding left click and turning his brain off with no effort put into his character to achieve that.
Yeah man, you’re a huge ARPG fan, I’m sure.
Your post should have read: “I’m a noob, and I just want to play a game for noobs.”
We all understand that desire man, it’s not very confusing. But what spiritborn is doing does not make a “game.” It’s a cookie clicker.
Cookie Clicker is actually more interactive than spiritborn gameplay, so I actually kind of insulted Cookie Clicker on accident.
No.
The D3 generation is not all that A-RPG are, or all they could be.
Being OP, the gameplay being a joke, the ridiculous blaster mindset, is not all that A-RPGs can be.
You should NEVER be able to break a game. If you do, the devs failed.
You should feel like you broke the game, by finding something that works well. But the gameplay should remain intact. That never happens in D4 because the scaling is so absurd that it goes from fine to broken within a multiplier or two.
Nerf everything across the board, not merely some broken builds. Bring scaling back to something manageable.
bc u have no idea what you are saying, this isnt just omg super strong op new class, this is fundamentally shattering the fabric of the game, you have a class that is quite literally doing hundreds, thousands of times more damage then the next strongest build, the math is right in front of you, if you dont grasp the situation, idk what to tell u
They literally quoted that in a campfire three times ago?
Players like to feel like they’ve found something unintended, like to find ways to break the game, and to feel powerful. We are going to lean into that."
Then they’ve done the opposite. Im scared for this week to see how they mess it up.
Do you reamember back in the day when everybody just played their own builds minding their own buisiness? ah man the good old times… now everyone just like to cry for even a mosquito at their room.
Every good devs and every player with brain will tell you balance is important in every single game.
Every tool (no matter if it is car in nfs, weapon in cod, or class/build in arpg) should be balance as close as possible. If it is not it is limiting your options if you are at least little bit competetive or just effective player. It is not debateble, it is fact.
Eveyone who say otherwise is just little child playing with sand and having bigger shovel and is afraid someone can take it from them.
It is always that player who is playing that broken thing who advcotate for this…every single time.
My personal opinion is that ARPG is dead in general because of seasons and battle passes.
They don’t even care about the actual game.
They don’t even care to make a balance game.
They only care what’s the best way to earn money.
Sadly i see that all arpg’s are going this way, so i suppose it’s time to move on and start playing another genre games.
This isn’t fun.
Nerf this brainless broken builds
