Oh, I see, you think the PC Master Race is all about how expensive something is, rather than how practical it is. Now we’re getting somewhere. So yea $1-2K easily for these monitors depending. Some have actually gone down in price. Although I do get the ‘I can’t go back to worse’ attitude, it’s rough.
It also depends on the games you play. 240hz is best for FPS games where precision is key, other games you’ll notice a difference sure, just won’t be as prominent. Not to mention even being able to display at 4K certain games won’t allow you to go past 120 hz and 60 FPS anyway, so all that power is wasted. Now having 2 of these monitors I feel would be a huge waste, but you can’t be part of the PC master race without 2 monitors, just get a nice cheap 120 hz for non-gaming.

One for each extreme capability. I did see manufacturers adopting that PC master race mindset and starting to offer both capabilities in one monitor but now is not the time for me to look into it.
He’s just Iggi. What’s more notable is that there isn’t even another person to interact with on this forum, which is weirdly hilarious. Here comes the popcorn vermin to gawk at two people having a conversation.
It was less of a conversation and more one person’s help getting blocked by the other’s ego.

You can’t be serious? DLSS, FSR and XeSS have no place in a PC Master Race approved setup. Almost every real gamer will tell you that. Fake frames are fake. You want more frames and your CPU isn’t causing the bottleneck? Get a better GPU. You can’t? Assume that your life choices let you down this path and cry.

…Dog, have you heard of 50xx graphics cards? Literally all about “fake frames”, which I am open-minded toward. The games where even well-executed fake frames may not be good enough are the 1080 500hz games, which is doable on a 5090 and where the CPU would be the bottleneck.
I’m skipping this current generation. Fake frames are beneath me.
There is no argument here, but the PC master race has different ends of the spectrum. Some prefer grand, lavish setups with the best components money can buy, even if they aren’t practical. They just look nice. Others take a more practical approach, realizing that a few extra frames, while nice, are not worth spending an extra $500 to $1,500. Unless you are a pro gamer with a sponsor, then you can spend to your heart’s content.
Fair enough. I’d love to upgrade my monitors as well, it’s just not in the budget right now.
