Are Eternal players supposed to stop playing till next Xpac?

Eternal players are well aware at the end of season and that the eternal realm becomes the repository of the corpses of the low-grade seasonal players characters, you should have more respect and delete all your seasonal characters before degrading the standards of the those on the Eternal realm and I for one do have fun playing on the Eternal realm and dare say more so than you on the seasonal realm

No one here is denying your fun, is those whiner that come to the forum complaining this and that. Look at OP.

Face it, you wont be here if you are really having fun.

My mistake, reliquaries do work for eternal characters. The only thing exclusive to the seasonal realm is the season journey rewards.

The Op comments are complete nonsense, guess work and conjecture and making conclusions from more nonsense he is pulling from the either

Eternal is just a longer season.

Well that’s because they ARE out to screw us. So is Eternal. It’s a dead realm. I used to play eternal a lot in the beginning. No more.

Oh they have fun on seasonal for 8-10 hrs as they rush to torment 4 and then run pits for 2 1/2 months.

I don’t understand the appeal of eternal realm.

How much more loot can you actually find for characters that old? Is there really that much appeal to going over old content for that long?

Just accept that your Level, Paragon, Runes, Glyphs & Codex are the real reason to stick with Eternal.

Not items, which will always either get superseded by better items or be liable for the nerf bat as they rework systems.

I understand the frustration. But having your Paragon etc. all unlocked will mean finding at least decent replacement items really shouldn’t take very long.

You still have a huge head start over seasonal. Even more so because you can use the power of S11 to get your Glyphs to 100 if you haven’t already. That might become a whole lot harder in S11.

Unfortunately you are completely right. The same applied to d3, even one of the last patches completely reworked my 6/6 primal akarat set on crusader. These games will never be stable before entering maintance mode.

This is exactly what I told my spouse about marriage.

Is there really that much appeal to going over old content for that long?

All they heard was old and appeal.

Then I realized no more! Seasonal relationships only. Every 3 months hard reset.

I swear, dude… eternal players are getting more and more annoying…

They buy a game that relies on seasons… whose prequels were already based on seasons.

And then they whine forever about the constant changes…

Blizzard… please give these guys an offline version that will never change again… then they can wallow in their own boredom forever. NO CHANGES, DUDE!

In a completely unrelated topic, some people just assume things they don’t use are completely without worth to anyone because they’re incapable of thinking outside the selfish bubble of their own tiny worldview.

I mean even Diablo 2 was like that 20+ years ago. Adding Runewords made so many existing items not worth using anymore.

That may work for many things in life, but when you in effect have D4 and D4+ , there’s really no need for the standard version.

I am an eternal player, bought the lat expac a couple weeks ago on sale, came back to the game and was loving it, was having lots fo fun progressing my character knowing it wouldnt just wipe or have a buncha random broken items coming from seasonal content like PoE does, also PoE has huge economy problems that D4 doesn’t have nearly as much of, so I was pumped….

and then the news came about game updates… then I looked into what happens to gear since I’ve been through this legacy crap before from launch until when I came back… they didn’t say anything official that I know of, but from what I’ve understood is that it’s very very likely all of our gear will drop to like 540 IP. Thus, making it yet again obsolete and to start all over again…

This sucks, it’s why we play eternal right? because we like perma prog like in D2 and D3, but D4? nope we get screwed.

Also, it’s one thing to just say ok, tomorrow this will make you stuff obsolete VS you now have to wait a month and a half to start over… It’s like… I want to play and grind now not wait… It’s like those ppl who are playing new world knowing it’s shutting down, why bother anymore. ya, sure, you can still login and have fun, but knowing it’s all going to be trashed is why we avoid seasons and play eternal… we want the time we invest to be respected.. and with D4 it just isn’t…

Then you think ok well I’ll just stop for a month and a half until the new update comes right? but then wait… maybe in December well get news on an expac? either way, once that next expac comes well have to start over… again???

and then you want us to pay another 40 bucks because youll hide power behind that paywall?? and just like this time, i didn’t buy the expac until it went on sale….

…. soooo I guess Ill maybe play a little, not invest tons of time getting perfect gears creating the perfect build that I want… and then quit until the next expac goes on sale? hmmm.. so I want to play now, I like the game now… and when will the next expac go on sale you think? it’s a giant red flag that screams waste of time at this point. Im actually annoyed with their actions….

… then you think of them with these recent changes makign the game even easier and more flat in terms of customizing your build and having flexible options… how much time they spend creating these new seasons and powers all to run into bugs to fix them just so they can throw it in the trash after a few months because season is over?

wtf are they doing?

do they really think, oh new season players come back and number go up, this is the right way to do things? nahhh people come back for a couple weeks and then their gone again. and the next season theyll be less likely to come back.

who thinks players will come back again and again and again is the play? theyll look at it and go, oh new season ehh, so i can make the same character, with the same build, so i can hit the same endgame and quit again, then have it all gone? bro what???

think of that, you wanna play now, you like your build and wanna make progress. but then they say season is over, and your build doesn’t work anymore even on eternal because they remove this stupid season cycle crap, and even if you liked the seasonal crap, guess what it’s all gone forever, youll never play that again…

real smart decision, great investment, 10/10 would recommend.

the best I can hope for at this point is by the time the next expac goes on sale, theyll figure their game out to the point where there wont be anymore legacy resets… and what do you think the odds are that happens, knowing how they run their company these days?

It doesn’t look good for us eternal players at all, and I see no bright future to get hyped about at this point. All the ā€˜D4 BAD’ PTSD memories are coming back from launch…. I literally just bought back in played for like 1-2 weeks and was hooked loving it…. and it was like woah, they’re actually doin it… and now its like… oh… what a fool I am for getting my hopes up.

Face value yes. But that is not Blizzard’s definition of eternal. If you were playing since patch 1.1.0, you should had been able to read between the lines. The subsequent patches also gave a lot of hints to Eternal players. If by S11, and you still missed the hint, well too bad.

Do I like it? Nope. But I am just saying sometimes it helps to be able to read between the lines and be able to read hints.

This would be the moment when you should realize that this game is not for you and try something else instead.

But here, too, you are trying to change the game instead of looking for something that suits your preferences.

It’s not a dead realm. Just saying that doesn’t change the fact that there are so many active people on it that Blizzard decided to add the same Battle Pass to it. I mean, it WILL be, if they keep doing this crap.

Sure, but I think it’s OK when an expansion does that. The problem is, d4 did it 4 times (s11 included) with 1 expansion only.
