Any thoughts on whether resistance changes will make the campaign more of a challenge?

I guess we’ll find out soon enough but any thoughts on whether resistances will help make the campaign more of a challenge? I’ve been playing the campaign with my wife on WT2, and she is absolutely not a gamer. She’s died I think twice through level 35, and even she is saying it’s not challenging enough.

Imo it would be great if the change to resistances adds a layer of strategy and difficulty to the leveling process. It doesn’t need to be over-the-top hard, but there should be instances where the campaign feels dangerous even on WT1/2, and defeating bosses feels like an achievement rather than easily tanking a health sponge.

possible, with the new scaling, but since we are capped at WT2 odds are the strong builds will outperform the campaign at some point, imo.

But who knows. That’s my guess however, it’s the achievable to everyone content, which i think is fine, but still should offer a difficulty raise for good players,

even chaos bane offers this and i can play very hard from the start and unlock more, i really fail to understand lack of choice on that one. I am very much a story with challenge PVE player versus hamster wheel content so i hope we get improvements to this side of the game, for all story and open world content.

I’d venture a guess no. I could be wrong though. As it stands there are no penalties against resists in WT1 or 2, only when you hit 3 and 4. Also keep in mind the changes to rings having all resist implemented. So even just through the leveling process you’re going to have enough resist to see you through easily.

Campaign itself wasn’t meant to be overly difficult, it’s just there to tell a story and get you familiar with your skills. Difficulty comes from higher tiers and the new boss farming mechanic.

Didn’t they say that they wanted the game’s core design to be so that players passively obtained the amount of resistance necessary in early game? I could be wrong about that, but I don’t think it’s going to make the game harder either way.

No one will know because no one is ever going to play the campaign again.

Bad Coding.

Thanks for the replies. Makes sense. The campaign tries hard to feel full of danger and despair, but it’s all bark and no bite. We should at least have the option to step up the campaign difficulty.

@Wowitsmekool: believe it or not, me and my wife are still barely scratching the surface of the campaign (level 35). We play for 1-2 hours together on weekends, and didn’t start on launch day.
