Ancestral echoes aspect

fellow barb - this aspect says your ancestral do 80% increase dmage.

Is that additive or multiplier?

Hope this helps!

Additive damage appears as:
"...##% increased (type of) damage"

Multiplicative damage appears as:
"...##%(x) increased (type of) damage"

Aspect of Ancestral Echoes:
Lucky Hit: Leap, Upheaval, and Whirlwind have up to a 45–65% chance to summon an Ancient that performs the same Skill. This can occur once every 5 seconds.
• Your Summons deal 20–40% increased damage.

To expand on this:

Summons, minions, and companions scale partially off your stats. When you see “increased damage” on something like Ancestral Echoes, it refers to increased all damage %, which is an additive stat.

That means if you stack “Damage %” or “All Damage %” across your gear, it indirectly buffs your Ancients’ damage output—because their damage is based on your stats. In return, the “20–40% increased damage” they receive from the Aspect multiplies off that base.

So, increasing your “All Damage %” benefits them. And if they have an effect that increases their damage, it scales further with the base damage you’ve enabled through your own stats.

One caveat: there is no in-game stat sheet that shows your Ancients’ actual “All Damage %” — it’s hidden.

Because snapshotting for Minions especially for Barbarian is busted. There are a lot of sources that do not work with it. Maxroll’s Character Planner does a pseudo-decent job of simulating things however.

Strength, Strength % and Heavy Hitter Passive (Tempers) are the best way to increase the Ancient’s Damage (after of course +Ranks to CoTA and Arreats Bearing.

Also, Ancestral Echoes provides a Multiplicative Bonus to Summons, not Additive. It says it in the description:

  • Your Summoning Skills deal x [20 - 40%] increased damage.

If it was Additive, it would read:

  • Your Summoning Skills deal + [20 - 40%] increased damage.
