Some people writing in this thread obviously have no idea how little āBlizzard Entertainmentā was involved in the creation of Diablo 2(basically only making the cinematics). Please stop putting hard reference between these two companies āBlizzard Northā (formerly āCondorā) and āBlizzard Entertainmentā, where it makes no sense.
ofc. we all have 20k hours in d2, and ofc. Pamela Andersonās best movie is āBarb Wireā but donāt expect kids nowadays to lurk in a game for 20 years ahead or like Pamelaās Movies. And ofc. it is money, what else it should be? Aliens?
Structurally, Blizzard North was considered an independent studio from Blizzard South, but also reported to them. There was never a real structure on how Blizzard North had to operate in regards to its parent company

OP, totally hear ya. Just remember the business model has a perverse incentive to get you to stop playing. (D2 could be fully installed on local machine, no additional hosting costs wasted for tens of thousands of hours playedā¦here if just in eternalā¦margins must at some point turn net negative).
We should actually be grateful D4 is less appealing than D2!

Iām blizz gamer from 1995, even though D4 isnāt exactly master piece, it has solid foundation for expanding.
D3 was just ok after the release and it started to be good after the Reaper expansion and with every other season after that got better.
I believe D4 had better start and it will become better with future updates, expansions and seasons.

True but I really hope not.
POE is not for normal gamers no matter how hardcore they think they are. Have sen it from my friends list people that have played 1000 hours in d2 wont go near POE, Love it but its a Bloated mess at this point

I make posts because I love the franchise. Made friends through this franchise. Memories. Thousands of hours. I have expectations. Iām sorry a lot of you folks have low af expectations for everything. It this was D1, cool. But itās not. Itās D4. They devolved the game in the guise of improving it and at the same time running away 90% of the mfers that bought this damn game.
I play at peak time in HC and see maybe 3 souls (outside town) every 2 to 4 hour sessions. Zero local chat. Zero discussion.
The quietest, most ghost town of Diablo game ever to exist. Iāve played them all since the first one.
This game is an utter disaster.

funny think is that arogant devs consider viceversa. they do firecamps and say : āthere is end-gameā , āour end-gameā, āresistances are working fineā ā¦ ā¦
Because he feels wronged he bought a game and spent x00 hours playing it. Campaign was awesome and it has an endgame loop.
Some dont like the end game and complaints it doesnt exist. 
If you were a true diablo fan like you say you are, you would know that the story of diablo 4 comes from the first book The Sin War by Richard Knaak which was written in 2006 and you would know that d4 timeline is about 3000 years before the events in Tristram and you would also know that there are other characters in the diablo franchise and universe which is why we are seeing a story about Lilith and Inarius and you would also know that the name Diablo and names of other prime evils were not even known to the people of sanctuary during this time.
