but mathematically that makes no sense. and i am strictly talking about +6
in all scenarios where I hit 25% at 4:
base skill level 4, masterworked to 4 = 40% = 4 * 1.4 = 5.6
base skill level 4, masterworked to 6 = 50% = 4 * 1.5 = 6
base skill level 4, masterworked to 6, but taking the new value: 5.6 * 1.1= 6.16
The short answer? For some reason the +skill won’t bump up one more as expected until you get to masterworking LV 8 in most cases. It’s one of those massively frustrating systems that really should be displaying their exact values during the masterworking process instead of only showing the (poorly rounded) results.
You have to go to 9 or 10/12 to become +6 to x skill. I know that mathematically is wrong, but if this was the only wrong thing this season would have been even better… You have gold disappearing from some people, scoundrel’s kiss unusable, screen freezing regularly, NPCs respond time of 10 seconds, inability to dismount the horse/cat… I mean a lot of math has been broken to consider +6 to x skill that important.
Your +4 is the result of Greater Aspect(GA). The bonus from GA does not improve the “Base stat”. And then the Master Work % is calculated with Base Stat.
So…
Base is 3 ranks;
GA gives 1.5 ranks, possibly rounded down to 1 rank from here onwards;
with 50% bonus from masterwork, you get another 1.5 ranks;

In this case, it doesn’t treat the Greater Affix as the number it is, it treats it like the number it WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THE 40% BUFF TO THE AFFIX IT GIVES. So, just base maxed rolled affix.
