Am I Alone In Hopes They Ditch Season Themes Entirely?

And the devs just continue to make great additions to the game and make it better?

If implementing season themes consumes too much time and resources, I’d much prefer them make the base game as good as possible as season themes tend to not exist widely after a season ends.

Oh no. There are plenty of other posts
You could have easily found them using the search function. It looks like a magnifying glass.

Make Seasons Great Again !

I’m not actually against doing away with them if they had enough content to keep you engaged and they just did special events every month or something. Unfortunately we are a long ways away from that. There is not nearly enough to keep me playing for long periods of time. For now, seasonal themes should stick around while they keep adding fun new things to focus on. New endgame systems, new items and aspects that expand build diversity, new skins to obtain, more skill options, etc.

Until then, themes are necessary to keep the game fresh in my opinion.

Themes are fun. Core gameplay improvements are better. In a perfect world we get both.

I agree. Seasons are really starting to suck.

No, you are definitely not alone.

This is exactly how it should be:

Spending resources on content that is gone in a few months is such a weird priority.
Only more so when the base game could use a bunch of improvements.

Feels like an appropriate time to add in something nonsensical.

I don’t know where the D4 forums are going
But I sure know where they’ve been
Hanging on to suggestions in posts of yesterday
And I’ve made up my mind
I ain’t reading one more line
Here I click again, here I click again
Though I keep searching for the mute button
I never seem to ever get them all
Oh, Lilith, I pray you give me strength to keep clicking on

'Cause I know what it means
To click along the lonely posts of dreams

Here I go again to the front page
Clicking on brand new posts so I can socially engage
Scrolling down the only forum I’ve ever known
Like a skeptic, I question everything I’m shown
And I’ve made up my mind
I ain’t reading one more line
I’m just another player in need of rescue
Waiting on Avalon’s sweet information posts
And I’ll read through posts for the rest of my days

'Cause I know what it means
To click along the lonely posts of dreams

And here I go again to the front page
Clicking on brand new posts so I can socially engage
Scrolling down the only forum I’ve ever known

And I’ve made up my mind

So people have purchased a game that has seasons that we have known about for 4 years, just to complain about seasons on the forum. Is that how it works now? I am so confused what will my therapist say.

What’s your idea of making the base game as good as possible? Genuine question, I want to know where you’re coming from and what you’d like for the future of D4.

You’re not alone and that is what they have done this season……however, it’s a seasonal based game so you are fighting against the core design of Diablo 4.

There are already 100000000 threads on this very topic - glad you made another one….

You need to offer a solution to Blizz how to monetize the updates without Seasons since they don’t want to sacrifice their earning.

Do you have any idea?

You’re not alone. I disagree with you though. The seasonal themes keep me playing if they went away I’d probably stop playing. I don’t know which if us are in the majority though.

The “I do not like something, so eliminate it” mentality is entertaining. I do not care for the Barb so replace it with something I like, it does not matters if others enjoy playing a Barb.

we probably would be getting some goofy overpowered season theme mechanic if not for the overwhelming amount of feedback to “finish your game” type feedback from millions of people. guessing this was going to be in the expansion but they couldn’t put it off any longer.

The season structure, as in a major content patch every ~3 month, should still be there. The content in them would just be focused on permanent game improvements instead of gimmicks.
So nothing would need to change in terms of the battle pass stuff. Heck, they could monetize the game to more players, by adding the battle pass to eternal realm too.

Yes I would prefer them to continue to develop the game and make major changes and updates instead of work on seasonal themes. IE, replace seasonal themes with major updates to the core gameplay that are here to stay… and keep building on the game that way. There’s always new stuff to add, like the crafting system.

The problem is, we live in an era of instant gratification with way too many options; people gravitate towards what’s new and exciting. And they love gimmicks. There’s a lot of jumping around between titles and seasons.

A lot of times major gameplay systems are also reserved for paid expansions so there’s also that. The next WoW expansion is $50! I wouldn’t be surprised if the Diablo 4 expansion is that much as well.

Nope, I too think Seasons are just a waste of time.

The gimmicks are not fun or interesting, and here we all are talking about Season 4, two weeks away, instead of PLAYING D4, because nobody wants to play a game mode that will be reset all over again in a couple weeks.

So, instead of playing D4 right now, we’re just…waiting around for the next seasonal reset.

If Eternal was the only game mode, we’d be PLAYING D4 instead of chatting about it, and we’d be preparing for the new update with our Eternal characters, which we would continue playing when the update dropped.
