Sir
I am 51 years old. Gamer since Pong in 1977 on Magnavox.
This game has huge potential because the combat is very fun (fluid, crisp). Give them some time to add more stuff, balance things etc.
I think you judging the game is premature. They always improve the game over time.
If you have no fun now, stop playing but come back in the future when they improve it.
Yeah, I think the games that appeal to me and draw me in are much more rarer the older I get.
I guess I just like quality over quantity. I don’t like to sink my precious time into something that is going nowhere. Playing D4 doesn’t make me feel accomplished, especially when I’m just doing the same stuff over and over and over for very little and limited rewards.
completely agree.
overhauling d2 with brand new content, graphics, items, story, …but keeping the core of the mechanics in tact (while improving on them) like how;
defense rating
attack rating
attributes
resistances
DR
FCR
FHR
etc
would have been a blast.
but what we got looks like a game designed for mobile.

You are playing the wrong type of game, stay away from any live service game like D3, D4, etc. They are not designed for fun, they are designed to keep you logged in in the hopes people will spend money. Just look at the latest patch and season “content” re-skinned dungeons, legendary gems from d3, uninspired new unique items, have to re-grind renown, slow xp gain, its pretty obvious what they are doing. Nerf everything in the name of “balance” (aka more play time) instead of adding stuff in the name of fun.
Try halls of torment or vampire survivors, also I played the early access of Baldur’s Gate 3 and it is fantastic, it comes out in 2 weeks.

Hmm. Im glad im not a game designer because i would struggle to work out how to meet your needs.
Fair enough. However,
Isn’t that what a Glass Cannon does? Can kill things quickly?
I’m enjoying the paragon structure. Progression right there, every time i play.
I’ve let go of my ideology that gear is the only form of progression. The glyphs and rare nodes requiring minimum X strength etc brings me back to D2 days where gear had those requirements to equip.
Yea that’s fair. I’d like more choice too.
I hear you about loading up your action bar with Defensive skills. I see a lot of people upset about the CDR nerf. Maybe that nerf means other (more interesting) builds become more viable??
Umm D3 took years to become a half decent game. Was utter garbage on release.
Agreed. Much better games to play and thanks for what you do as a medical professional
Medical professional. Could be a doctor, or EMT, or critical care nurse, or dental hygienist, or something else. The poster is qualifying the next statement about time being too scarce a resource to waste on this disappointment (D4 in its current state), with whys and wherefores. Accordingly, I applaud the OP’s comment. Upvoted.

You might like Grim Dawn a lot. That is what I’ve been playing. GD’s levelling could be a little faster, and the combat is less engaging and like Diablo 2, but it has a fun and rewarding loot system.
Ooook, that’s why i said after the expansion…
Completely agree. And I upvote the upvote!
Go play a good MMORPG, you’ll feel better there. Given your limited time, Guild Wars 2 is probably your best bet.
Not sure what you think your age and profession have to do with your opinion?
Spoiler alert: Absolutely nothing.
Ultimate Edition for PC is $99 USD plus tax.
Yeah, hence, not the price of the game. That is the price of the game plus additional nonsense. Game price was still $70.
Completely agree. Unfortunately the devs think making you dredge through repeat content longer will keep you playing.
