Are they gonna bring the scissors in the development teams due to this? Is not good news indeed.
No telling what the future will hold. What ever it will be, we’ll survive. There are worst things in the world then this. IMO

They need to get involved more directly with the game development process at Blizzard.
Blizzard is relatively minor compared to Activision. Has a new Call of Duty even been released since MS bought it?
Lastly, I’d venture that Gamepass is a poor metric. Gamepass has been out, people that want it, have it, and there’s not really muxh they can do to “grow” at this point. It’s quite saturated, so the best Gamepass can really hope to do is keep the customers they have - which is all they really need to do as a subscription service.

ABK’s big money maker is King games and especially Candy Crush. It’s far more likely Microsoft acquired them to use their expertise to expand into the mobile market. Any other profit is probably just gravy for them. Growing Gamepass was probably not really a main goal.

They bought it for Candy Crush. The other 2/3 was just an added bonus at that point that they could toss onto the Game Pass because why not.
