I can’t wait to show my wife all my Diablo 4 achievements.
Assuming she gives you permission to play.
Most games have achievements as they are an effective way to make you play the game longer. They provide no value, but create small or huge in-game challenges which I personally enjoy.
And I’m pretty sure each gamer with conditions is familiar with achievements and can ignore games that have them at desire.
Maybe one day it will be switchable option, like an arachnophobia filter which turns spiders into other things.
I am the same! I dont know what it is but having that plat trophy makes me feel all warm and good inside. I bet without a doubt there will be plenty of trohpies to get in d4, just look at d2r on console.
I only bought it for PC but when they do a summer sale/special something offer to cross game/bonus things, I will probably buy d4 for my ps5
I used to chase those points pretty hard, now when achievements pop up it’s more of a novelty and I end up spending time looking up what I just did rather than focusing hard on the next achievement on the list.
The trophies for XB/PS are self explanatory in their descriptions, but the in game achievements can be pretty neat sometimes.
Games that require multiple play throughs are OK to a point if you have to do it once or twice, but games with achievements that require a half dozen or more play throughs, are a bit over the top. The shortcut to many of those is save scumming at the multiple branch points to speed things along. I wish games didn’t encourage this behaviour, but I digress…
More importantly in life, nobody is going to remember you for your gamer score. It’s not something you will out on your resume or CV, unless of course you are applying to Blizzard right now because they are hiring!
I’m going to put it on my tombstone… Here lies Taetew with 99 plat trophies, screw the normal name and date of birth/death
My guy. When you make the money and lay the pipe right. You can do whatever you want.
Yes, but what do YOU plan to do?
There’s no way to get clear discussion without a mountain of sass lol.
To the OP, the straightforward answer to your question is yes there will be. For consoles it’s just an assumption but given history and precedent of other games I’m positive there will be. Inside the game itself, absolutely. During the beta I dug through those already listed and there were quite a few.
From a missing out standpoint, I don’t remember seeing any time sensitive within the main sections in game BUT if you haven’t already participated in the beta there are a few titles and a mount cosmetic you can only get during the beta pre-launch. So if you haven’t already, be sure to do these this weekend:
- Reach kyovashad (happens quick, title)
- Reach level 20 (title)
- While level 20, kill the world boss (very cool looking cosmetic)
The beta this weekend is free to do without pre-ordering but if you then order, those rewards are still tied to your account so give it a go this weekend, it’s already very fun.
Have fun!
Im gonna pack up my pc and put it in the garage. Pretend im working on the truck.
dont forget beta wolf pack aslo for reaching lvl 20
Hi,
I finally convinced my wife to play the game during the Beta and she was enjoying it until the first cave passthrough when the spiders showed up. Heard her scream from the other room and then a flurry of curses were thrown at me. I love that the monsters are meant to freak you out at some point, but similarly, it really sucks that a single monster type would stop someone from playing the entirety of the game.
Arachnophobia is so common, is there ANY CHANCE of creating a filter where the spiders/spiderlike-monsters are replaced with something less disabling for people like that? I would love for them to enjoy the game with the rest of us.
Such a drastic request, but I’m sure it would welcome so many more people to play. Maybe not, but at least some. I’ve been playing Diablo games since '98 and I really want to share this world with my wife…
Did you know your wife suffered from such a disability before you married her?
Actually agree, they should take and put some warning labels. on things like that. DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT buy hogwarts for her. She’ll collapse for sure.
A few days ago I would have said this would never happen.
In a crazy coincidence I JUST saw this addressed in another game. One of my kids really likes “Grounded” and they apparently have an “arachnophobia mode” for exactly this reason.
Ahh yes…the other scum mechanic that diminishes whatever you accomplish in the game.
Because why would we have a 10.000 achievement points cap that once hit shows you’ve done EVERYTHING (even hardcore lvl 100 pvp) WHEN we could give every casual 800 points for doing the same lvl 1 to 75 battle pass every season for 4 seasons …
only so when you look at someone it could be anything from lowest skill level scrub with paid battle pass skips that played for 300h over 1 year or one of the 0.4% that will have completed everything but didn’t play (any, or enough of) their FOMO design seasons.
(Unless you spend time to inspect individual achievements, cuz D3 did have that.)
