They absolutely could have changed it since last year when my character was created tho.
Still worth it to try to get that level 1 at least. See if it unlocks progress and rewards.

I am even more convinced that this is a windowed mode or “locked cursor” issue. Or maybe even a controller problem.

I have recreated the same issue. While hovering over an area, you can trick it to think your cursor is hovering over an area transition instead of the area itself.
Recreating this requires windowed mode and/or unlocking the cursor to the window.
perhaps fiddle with the fullscreen and cursor window lock settings. or unplug a controller if you have one plugged in (if on PC).
Edit: apparently it wasnt this lol it was in fact a change they implemented to opening renown.
Still gonna leave this up tho just for the information.

I just borrowed an account from another person in the community. He also bought it around the beginning of November and hasn’t had time to play yet. I logged in and saw that although I hadn’t completed any achievements and I also skipped campain on a new character, he had a Renown board.

And I also returned to my account and 1 completed a gold dungeon. Includes completing the first Renown bonus level as FFSnipe said. and WOW it appeared.

I think the last update they changed it but didn’t announce it. And it’s confusing when I wrote a Ticket but no one from the support team told me this.
