A step in the right direction... Maybe

First, be careful what you say towards the devs here. I was suspended for nearly 2 weeks for stating my opinion on what upper management should do with the devs. Apparently that’s not allowed, so from now on I’ll take it to Reddit when the devs are destroying the game.

Anyways… the hotfix was a step in the right direction but Season 15 needs some major changes. Removal of the crafting limit helps but it really depends on the class and build.

I’m playing a Dread Claws warlock for example, and I want the mythic Litany dagger. After killing the boss 60 times and open 120 chests, I had almost 300 fragments for the mythic upgrade. This barely got me 1 dagger with the correct stats and that’s not even any GA.

Sure with the limit removed, I could no life the game and put 200 hours into the character and eventually craft more mythics or finally get another Litany with the right stats but with a GA this time, but honestly I don’t feel like killing the boss hundreds of more times.

The current system is far too random. The upgrade to mythic puts all 1h items including focuses into the same pool. There like 10 different uniques so first you have to get the correct upgrade to mythic and then on top of that hope that lightning strikes and the random stats are correct too.

I heard S15 may finally keep the same unique that you already grinded hard for and simply make it mythic keeping all existing stats. That will be huge.

If that’s the case, the limit may need to be restored but please consider at least allowing 2 items to be crafted and not just 1.

Anyways, not sure why people were posting here that the sky is falling after Blizzard announced the patch. It’s still very hard to get the mythics you want with the right stats, and then if you really want to keep grinding you can chase the mythics with GA.

BTW I did find several mythics in my 120 chests none of them were for my build. I don’t think more mythics is the answer. All that got me was a bunch of sparks and since those can only be used to craft the iconic mythics, they are useless to me. My build does not use any iconic mythics. We need some kind of target farming if all uniques can be mythic.

This is the truth. The nay-sayers won’t acknowledge and will run away 100% if you confront them with facts and logic.

I think the main problem is that itemization is very poor. Consider how basic it is compared to D2 or PoE2. There really isn’t much of a chase that exists in the first place because the itemization is so simple.

Maybe but unless they completely revert to pre expansion mythics, it’s at least better than what we have now. Now I have a headache just getting my unique going through hundreds on ancestral uniques to finally get something decent. Then I have to get another headache doing the same for a mythic version.

At least what they are proposing I only have to have a headache once and can then upgrade what I worked hard for to mythic quality.

As toxic of a swamp this place is you can get banned for nonsense reasons.

Unique items need unique attributes, such as skill duration, specific cooldown reduction, etc. Currently, every slot is just a source of multipliers.

Throughout entire D4 development history the biggest weakness was and has been not knowing what to preserve, in other words not counting for side-effects of a change

Every change is not only positive, there’s a negative effect to it (side-effect), not having awareness of the side-effects is what makes things worse repeatedly

That being said, there are 2 of the new change:

  • Reaper boss spam is imperative for people who want to keep on pushing
  • Every blue & rare drop got devalued completely (i.e. viable being only white items and uniques  )

Yes there are levels to it, perhaps it’s a bit of over-concern, but just want to point out the side-effects (i.e. negatives) so that eventually and finally people can measure the pros vs cons gained

Just say, “I do not want to play the game.”

They’re not going to make creative mode. Just move on.

People speak poorly of the devs because they don’t realize that the upper management, the ones making all final decisions, are the ones truly responsible for the direction of the game.

Don’t blame devs. Blame the stupid upper management, the so-called “leadership”.
