A little help with this class

So Im just getting my butt kicked. Im not dying all the time, but Im very close. Im using my health pots constantly and always down to my last 1-2 and Im always a hair away from death. I get one shotted down to a sliver of health often. Bosses take forever for me to take down.

Im only set to hard. lvl 36. I dont think I should be struggling to stay alive.

Is this just standard for this xpac? Im so used to melting everything down before this xpac, and now Im doing everything I can to stay alive.

Anyone have any build suggestions, because what I have going on isnt really melting much of anything. And the game is getting rather frustrating.
Any help would be appreciated it.

Before you tell me to get gud, Ive never struggled in this game with other classes like I am with Spiritborn. Im a good player. Have many 100s. Its usually cake to get through.

I have to be doing something wrong, or my build is not right.

Unless your playing a bulild that HAS to use something like Eagle, I would start with Gorilla as your main hall. There is alot of increase health and barrier passives on skill tree and i think the paragon named Convergence increase your damage per HP per barrier so making a build with barrier also has notable dps implications

Use a staff for block chance, the aspect that gives you block chance per resolve, and use the Defensive Armor Gorilla skill. Keep in my if you have enough crit chance the redirection aspect is REALLY strong with block chance.

For healing, depends on your build, but Scrouge increase your crowd control dps and has lhc healing. You can use an ultimate you can spam like hunter or seeker and use the healing passive in the ultimate tree for more healing…or just use the Undying Aspect.

NP. Also note that with Accursed Touch, practically any SB build can run Vital Strikes which gives healing and great damage.

You probably went full Jaguar, right?

Jaguar is kinda weak at the moment. If you want the OP build, go full Poison with Gorilla as the first spirit in the hall and centipede as the second.

If you want more survivability, go Gorilla instead of Poison. Eagle for more mobility and ranged options.

My build is Rock Splitter, Crushing Hand, Soar, Counter-attack, Touch of Death, and The Devourer. Gorilla/Jaguar in Spirit Hall. Not optimal, but I haven’t had any issues on Hard. I use the Prodigy’s Tempo key passive so that Touch of Death and Devourer come up more often.

Nothing to add to the gameplay concerns but just wanted to say…me too…always.

after looking on vanilla builds and looking on current tiers position for the class - I went with Quill (at least for the leveling part). Getting merc(s) help a bit here. Second I noticed that this class w/o class specific aspects (that no one usually trying to get via dungeons and rather rely in salvaging) have … horrible DPS at low levels (at level 42 my attack barely above 200). But once you start getting aspects game start changing. I’d go as far as saying don’t be shy and do tempering of your gear as early as materials permit. Heh - my advice do either of 2 methods - a) boost +% damage and nothing else b) boost % damage of your primary attacks

Im all eagle except one poison ability, forget what its called. The one that fears and slows. I’ve had no issues on the 2nd difficulty up to level 34 or so now. Biggest issue for me is there’s a lot more buttons to press and or abilities coming off cool down so fast, my hand hurts after playing a while. Compared to the sorcerer and barb I played last season and necro and druid the previous.

And until last night I wasn’t even tempering or bothering to update any affixes. But I think a lot of it is just knowing what each ability does and when to use it. It’s not always a straight forward rotation depending on what youre fighting at the moment. Once you do temper and affix some gear that certainly helps out quite a bit.

I’m having fun so far aside from the pain in my hand after a while, but remapping buttons could probably take care of much of that.

Doubt…the class is just very clicky

Basically, once you get basic gear setup for vanilla S-tier built (any of them) game become pretty trivial
