So I wanted to play the characters from my PS4 on my battlenet account. I went through all the process needed to connect my battlenet account to the playstation account, only to find out that all the characters I had on the PS4 disappeared. It was at this point that I realized that you had to connect Diablo 4 to a battlenet account in the first place (I initially did the setup for this two years ago when the game first came out; plenty of time to forget), and now I have to wait 90 days to try to move the playstation account back to my wife’s battlenet, by which time the season will be over and I won’t have finished completing in on my Playstation characters.
I don’t imagine there’s anything you can do on your end to fix the connection issue on the battlenet end, but what you can do is provide more information when first connecting a battlenet account to a playstation account. Something along the lines of “All Blizzard games require a Battlenet account to play on a Playstation account. If you have been playing on the Playstation 4 or 5, and you connect to a battlenet account, you will lose all access to the characters you have been playing for 90 days, until you can connect to a new battlenet account.”
Doing so will help people take a beat, and do a little more research before making a new connection. Thank you for your time and attention to this.
