If youre talking characters created then that does not, in fact, describe the population of the game. What youre looking for is amount of players who are participating in season 1. To find that you would need to know the average amount of characters created per account for the seasonal realm and then divide the number of total characters by that to get your approximate player count.
The number that describes how healthy the game is currently would be total players over a 2 week span who spent (5) or more hours playing the game across multiple instances. To include seasonal and eternal. Then compare that week over week to see a decline or expansion in engagement from players.
