You should be ashamed of yourselves Blizzard

The new game is defeating inflation and predatory corporations by finding great deals, freezing/storing, and learning to home cook. Esp learning to make stock, soups, etc. where you can use bones and veggie scraps.

Living your best healthy life frugally is actually kind of a fun game.

well thats only because the cost over run for transporting etc is but thats common knowledge for any imported goods

which in fact is why a lot of items in places like New Zealand they found it cheaper to merely create their own and coupled in part due to consumer regulations Wal mart doesnt even have a presense anywhere in their part of the world

Well, I actually do that. Get the large packages then come home and freeze into more practical portion sizes. I also keep a pair of bags in the freezer. One for veggie scraps (celery, onions, carrots, parsley, etc.) and one for chicken bones. When full I make stock.

Well hopefully I can get really lucky and buy a Primal chicken…

You could always make a chicken Wd. Pound for pound, it might be the most fun experience, except for MissC’s cooking

I’m not sure I like these transactions you’re talking about. Can’t chicken just drop in the game for free?

No worries. Yep everything definitly is significantly more here. Even after adjustiment for exchange.

When I used to live in Windsor I always crossed into Detroit on weekends just to gas up and grocery shop on weekends.

That said regardless of regional pricing my original piint was simply that WM, among other companies, is using underhanded tactics to mislead pricing to their customers and gouge.

Its common in Canada to see items on sale in flyers that are actually cheaper prior to the sale and it goes way beyond food.

yeah people living in california along both the arizona and mexican borders can obtain cheap souvenirs and tax free cigarettes based on which direction they drive

It is a very common marketing tactic. We also get those ā€œbuy one get one freeā€ deals. They jack up the item price so much you spend more. You have to know the base prices from memory to figure out if that is a reasonable sale or a scam.

At least now they force retailers to put a price per unit on the label so people can compare more easily. Bulk boxes are not always cheaper per lb/kg.

My state thankfully does not tax grocery food. They tax pre-made hot meals and I think some junk food. The next state over has no sales tax at all so I can get anything cheaper there. Go go deal finding!

No pay to win chicken!

I don’t know how they do things in your ā€œregion of NAā€ (which I assume is Canada, because no one in the US uses metric measurements, nor do we use the term region, we use states), but I don’t see the president of the US following in Nixon’s path and reinstituting price and wage controls.

I get it - you have absolutely no understanding of how inflation is measured, nor do you understand how economic business cycles actually work.

And again,

None of this has anything to do with D:($).

In the US, corporations have been amoral ever since a clerk wrote in an SC opinion that corporations have rights.

If it bothers you so much, get on your representative to rewrite taxation laws in your country.

And good luck with that…

  1. You have no knowledge of who I am or what I know, so slandering me because the American economic system differs from ours is pointless. American laws are also different, so stop lumping.

  2. I am actively involved with my local MP regarding taxation among other things. Thanks for playing. Not that its even relevant to the conversation.

So you have no actual point other than to be right. Consumer laws have a lot to do with unbridalled inflation and price gouging and dare I say it… DI. Multiple EU countrys banned DI due to having laws that prevent predatory things like loot boxes. But keep think America is the be all end all.

I understand how governments and economist calculate inflation and its no exact science as well as cherry picked data to suite narratives. Downplaying inflation is just trying to settle the masses.
